Having already cemented a long running association with the world’s football governing body FIFA, Hyundai has now expanded its support of sports to cricket, having recently signed a deal which will see them becoming the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) first official car partner.

The deal, valid from 2011 to 2015, will see ICC officials and players using Hyundai cars as official means of transport for the entire duration of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, scheduled to take place from 19 February to 2 April in India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Additionally, Hyundai will also be the transport partner for other ICC tournaments, namely the Champions Trophy and the World Twenty20.

The ICC Cricket World Cup consists of a total of 49 matches with teams from 14 nations. It’s one of the most-watched events in the world, with more than 700,000 spectators in host countries and 2 billion television viewers in 110 countries.
