Chery Auto Malaysia Celebrates Production Milestone With 10,000th Vehicle Roll-Out
Chery Auto Malaysia has reached a significant milestone, rolling out its 10,000th vehicle since partnering with Inokom Corporation Sdn Bhd. This achievement, realized within just 8 months of starting operations at Inokom’s state-of-the-art 200-acre facility in Kulim, Kedah, and highlights Chery Auto Malaysia’s dedication to growth in the local automotive industry.
The partnership between Chery Auto Malaysia and Inokom Corporation was formalised in May 2023, and the first batch of locally assembled Omoda 5 and Tiggo 8 Pro SUVs were delivered by August of the same year. In addition, assembly of the soon-to-be-launched Tiggo 7 Pro began this month, with Chery’s EV, the Omoda E5, set to join the production lineup soon.
The increase in demand and the positive market reception has led Chery to initiate a 2nd assembly line to boost production efficiency at the plant. This expansion will increase assembly capacity to better meet the growing demand of Malaysian consumers, while maintaining high standards of quality control for its products and services.
“Our focus has always been on delivering safe, reliable products to our customers,” said Leo Chen, President of Chery Auto Malaysia. He emphasised the company’s commitment to providing high-quality, reliable vehicles for Malaysian consumers. Chen, who was in Kulim to launch the new production line alongside Andrew Basham, Managing Director of Sime Darby Motors, stated, “We are committed to maintaining strict quality assurance processes as we expand our operations here in Malaysia.”
Chen also expressed confidence on the collaboration with Inokom, describing it as an exhilarating journey. He hopes the partnership remains strong and emphasised Chery Auto Malaysia’s commitment to offering the best driving and ownership experience to its customers.
