ETCM official car sponsor for Axiata Cup 2012
Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM) has officially announced its partnership status as the ‘official car’ for Axiata Cup 2012. Axiata Group Berhad (Axiata) had announced the creation of the Axiata Cup in March, and it is the world’s richest team prize badminton championship with a total prize money of USD1 million.
“Axiata Cup marks our first initiative to stamp ETCM with badminton among the public. We see this collaboration not only as a way to give back to our customers but also as part of our contributions towards the development of badminton in Malaysia. We also value this partnership as a promising platform to promote badminton as a healthy sport in this region,” explained Dato’ Dr. Ang Bon Beng, the Executive Director of ETCM.
In conjunction with the Axiata Cup’s debut, Celcom is running a “Who Will Win” campaign, in which two units of the Nissan Livina X-Gear will be given away as the Grand Prizes for two lucky winners. The contest closes on 1 May 2012.
The Axiata Cup features 8 teams from 6 countries participating over a 4-week period. The nations which involved are Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and Philippines. The final play-off will take place at Tennis Indoor Senayan Stadium, Jakarta, Indonesia on the 14th and 15th April 2012. Alternatively, there will be direct telecast live on Astro Super Sports, Channel 811 at 1:00pm.
