BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence Flagship SAV Launched In Malaysia

BMW Malaysia has introduced the all-new BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence as one of its locally assembled variants on offer. This move reaffirms the company’s investments in the local automotive industry. First revealed to the public about 2 months ago, the BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence is an exemplification of luxury within the BMW brand. This 7-seater variant is designed with comfort and luxury at its heart, but with the versatility and agility of a BMW X.

“After the extensive introduction of many high-profile locally assembled vehicles in the past year – including the BMW 218i Gran Coupé, the BMW 330e M Sport, and the BMW M340i xDrive – this move to localise the assembly of one of our largest models in the BMW X range further demonstrates our longstanding confidence in Malaysia’s potential as a regional hub for the luxury automobile segment,” he added.

The BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence sets an iconic bold and immaculate design, with a massive front and imposing kidney grille to lend an exceptional stature to the vehicle. From the side, the near-vertical shoulder line visually elongates the X7, with large windows and a long, dynamically flowing roofline that hints at a spacious interior. Exterior kit includes the slender BMW Laserlight headlights that can illuminate up to 600 metres ahead, high beam assistant and LED fog lights as well as 21″ light alloy wheels in Y-spoke style 753 Bicolour with run-flat tyres. At the back are a fully-electric tailgate with the Comfort Access feature, and two large, rectangular tailpipes. The split tailgate opens up to 325 litres of cargo space which can be expanded up to a very practical 2,120 litres with the rear backrests folded down.

The interior of the BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence also features the opulent “Crafted Clarity” handmade diamond-cut trim element and a range of standard equipment including a sport leather steering wheel and electrically adjustable comfort seats. Further, the BMW Live Cockpit Professional with BMW Operating System 7.0 combines the fully digital, user-configurable 12.3″ instrument cluster with an equally large central Control Display with touchscreen functionality.

The BMW Head-Up Display is also located within field of vision. The variant is also fitted with the voice-controlled BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant and BMW Gesture Control. Other cabin highlights include the Welcome Light Carpet feature, five-zone air conditioning, a Harman Kardon Surround Sound System with 16 loudspeakers and electric roller blinds for side windows.

The Rear Entertainment Professional system is also available within this locally assembled variant, while the interior spaciousness is further enhanced by the large Panorama Roof Sky Lounge. The X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence also features a soft-close function for doors.

Providing momentum to the BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence is the powerful 6-cylinder in-line petrol engine that is capable of producing 250 kW (340 hp) and 450 Nm of torque. This enables the X7 to do a century sprint in 6.1 seconds, while affording it a combined fuel consumption of 9.5l/100km and a combined carbon emission of 218g/km.

Engine power is channelled to the four wheels via an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission. The xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system of this luxury SAV maximises traction, agility and handling stability which links up with the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) feature. Included in the sophisticated chassis design of the variant is a two-axle air suspension. With the DSC system, the vehicle load registered by the air suspension sensors can also be factored into braking modulation.

Like the imported variant, the locally assembled variant of the BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence is offered with the innovative Executive Drive Pro with active roll stabilisation.

One of the driver aids found in the X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence is the Reversing Assistant. This assists in safely manoeuvring this large SAV out of a tight parking space. The Driving Assistant has also been fitted with a comprehensive range of functions, tailored to allow full ease of mind when on the drive. It includes Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Warning and Front Collision Warning with brake intervention.

To further enhance safety and driving comfort, the BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence also comes with Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function and Integral Active Steering. Other standard innovative features include the BMW Digital Key, wireless charging for mobile phones, as well as smartphone integration.

The All-New BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence is offered in five exterior finishes to complement its selected interior colour combinations. The exterior colours of Black Sapphire and Sophisto Grey come with Cognac Leather Vernasca upholstery with Black design perforations; Phytonic Blue and Manhattan Metallic exteriors come with an all-Black design-perforated Leather Vernasca interior. Lastly, the Mineral White body colour gets exclusively the Leather Vernasca in Coffee with Black design perforations.

The BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence is now at all authorised BMW dealerships nationwide. It can also be booked online for RM 5,000 (https://shop.bmw.com.my/). The official retail price is listed at RM674,410 (RM698,800 if you include the Extended Warranty & Service Package). During the sales tax exemption period (until 30 June 2021), the retail prices drop to RM648,933.61 and RM673,323.61 respectively.

With the Balloon Financing Plan from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia, the BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence can be owned with a monthly instalment plan starting from RM7,468 (based on estimates of an 80% loan on a five-year tenure).
