Recall Issued For Mazda 2, 3, 6, CX-3, CX-5 And CX-9 To Replace Fuel Pump
Mazda Corporation Japan has announced a product recall to replace the fuel pump (fuel delivery module) in several models as a precautionary measure. The safety of Mazda customers is of the utmost priority and sole distributor for Malaysia, Bermaz Motor, is working closely with Mazda to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
For Malaysia, a total of 19,685 Mazda vehicles are affected by this recall and all are manufactured between 2017 – 2019. The breakdown by model are: Bermaz Motor reassures all customers that year 2020 production models are not affected by this product recall. It also offers apologies to affected customers for the inconvenience caused.
This product recall is a necessary preventive measure to address the possibility of loss of engine power or stall caused by the fuel pump module. This product recall is also in line with the fuel pump recall in other countries including China, ASEAN and other areas (Asia, Middle East, Africa, Middle America and Caribbean).
All affected customers will be contacted via notification letters and mobile SMS, which will include details of the product recall. Upon receipt of notification to replace the fuel pump, Bermaz Motor urges all affected customers to contact any Bermaz authorised service centres to make an appointment.
The replacement of the fuel pump is free of charge and all related costs will be borne by Mazda Motor Corporation of Japan. The part replacement will take approximately 1.5 hours, but will depend on the model and the service centre workload at the time of appointment. The replacement stocks will be available in stages.
