Chery Auto Malaysia Partners With Technology Depository Agency To Advance ESG Practices

Chery Auto Malaysia has entered into a partnership with the Technology Depository Agency (TDA) in a commitment to promoting Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices within Malaysia’s automotive sector. TDA is an agency of the Ministry of Finance.

TDA is instrumental in driving Malaysia’s economic and technological growth. Through its Industrial Collaboration Programme (ICP), TDA connects local industries with leading global technology partners, facilitating the transfer of critical knowledge and enhancing the global competitiveness of Malaysian companies through strategic government procurement.

“This MoU signifies our dedication to exploring, extending, and enhancing collaborative efforts, which will not only strengthen our interactions but also drive meaningful impacts among stakeholders, professionals, and staff,” said Leo Chen, President of Chery Auto Malaysia.

Dr. Sharoul Jambari, Chief Executive Officer of TDA, emphasised the partnership’s focus on ESG initiatives, highlighting the importance of minimising environmental impact and upholding robust social responsibility within the automotive sector. “Through this partnership, we will explore solutions for environmental concerns and social well-being. Our aim is to develop and implement innovative programmes that address both environmental and social issues,” stated Dr. Jambari.

The planned initiatives include reducing waste, promoting cleaner production processes, and responsible battery management practices within the electric vehicle (EV) industry.
