Peugeot Introduces Locally Assembled Peugeot Landtrek Special Edition

Peugeot has unveiled the upgraded, locally-assembled Peugeot Landtrek Allure and Landtrek Special Edition (SE) at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024. Now featuring a range of new accessories and an enhanced suspension kit for sportier handling, the Peugeot Landtrek SE represents the core brand values of Allure, Emotion, and Excellence.

The Peugeot Landtrek SE combines the brand’s refinement with robust capability, and offers owners the freedom to indulge in outdoor pursuits while maintaining urban sophistication. It blends the features and roadholding capabilities of an SUV with the durability of a pickup, ready to tackle both city roads and challenging terrains.

“Both the PEUGEOT LANDTREK Allure and Special Edition are now assembled at the Stellantis Gurun plant in Kedah locally assembled and reinvigorated to deliver exceptional value to customers seeking a versatile pickup for all their adventures – be it in an urban, cross-country, or outdoor setting. Furthermore, with this new suspension kit enhancement, we are confident that this will enhance the overall driving experience and match the various driving preferences of our customers,” shared Jamie Francis Morais, Managing Director of Stellantis Malaysia.

The new Landtrek SE variant enhances the dynamic design of the pickup with additional features such as tailgate dampers, black wheel arches, LANDTREK decal, stylish black Peugeot tag bezels, door visors, and a tubular black side step. The front showcases a chrome-framed grille with vertical, single Lion-claw LED daytime running lights, full-LED headlamp clusters, a striking front bumper, fog lamp inserts, and a skid plate.

The standout feature of the Landtrek SE is its spacious storage bed, measuring 1,630 mm long and 1,600 mm wide, capable of accommodating up to 2 Euro-size pallets or a payload of 1 tonne. Powering it is a 1.9L turbo diesel engine generating 150 hp and 350 Nm of torque that is paired with a 6-speed Punch automatic transmission. This setup provides a towing capacity of up to 3 tonnes. Furthermore, the upgraded suspension and dampers, along with the Eaton rear differential lock in 4WD mode, ensure exceptional ride and handling across any terrain. The vehicle’s approach angle of 29°, departure angle of 27°, and break-over angle of 25°, and its 235 mm ground clearance enable it to navigate uneven terrains effortlessly.

The Landtrek SE also features advanced connectivity and practical elements such as a 10″ infotainment system with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, 3 USB ports, and a 360° camera with 3D vision for optimal manoeuvring. Additionally, the new Tyre Precision Cameras assist with low-speed manoeuvring by detecting obstacles like curbs, speed bumps, and potholes.

Comfort is also not compromised, with powered leather seats for the driver and front passenger, and rear seats accommodating up to 3 adults comfortably. The cabin offers 27 liters of storage space. Safety features include 6 airbags, ISOFIX points, Dynamic Stability Control, Anti-Skid Regulation, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Electronic Stability Programme, Trailer Swing Control, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, and Lane Departure Warning System. The Peugeot Landtrek SE is priced at RM129,124 and is available in Rockstone Grey and Ceramic White, with standard 18″ diamond-cut alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain tyres, making it off-road ready. Meanwhile, the Landtrek Allure is priced at RM124,124. Prices stated are on-the-road without insurance for private registration in Peninsular Malaysia. Both models come with a 3-year warranty (or 100,000 km, whichever comes first).

The Peugeot Landtrek SE can be experienced at the exclusive off-road test drive section of the Malaysia Autoshow 2024 (22 – 26 May). Those interested can register at the Peugeot booth in Hall A1 to participate in the 6-course 4×4 off-road test drive.
