PROTON DX Empowers STEM Learning in Malaysia

STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education is receiving priority in Malaysia for human capital development as the government allocates RM100 million in its 2024 Budget for the maintenance and upgrading of existing facilities and the purchase of equipment.

To grow interest in STEM, PROTON DX, an ACO Tech development in collaboration with PROTON and China Construction Bank (CCB), has made itself available as a community engagement platform for fostering STEM exploration and understanding.

Since its establishment in June 2023, PROTON DX has been at the forefront of initiatives aimed at igniting passion and curiosity for STEM subjects, especially among the youth. As the country’s first automotive digital centre, PROTON DX blends interactive technology, leisure, and lifestyle elements, making it an ideal space for engaging individuals of all ages in STEM-related activities. One of the centre’s initiatives is the monthly Student Robotic Car Workshop, designed for secondary school students. At this workshop, participants learn the fundamentals of assembling and programming mini autonomous vehicles using the Arduino platform. With over 50 Malaysian youths already benefiting from this workshop, ACO Tech aims to engage at least 200 more youths by the end of 2024, and hold other STEM activities.

“The importance of STEM for a nation’s development cannot be overstated. We are wholly supportive of all  efforts to develop human capital to engage in the fields of STEM and to fill the skill gaps and introduce  technology literacy to the future workforce. This was one of the motivations behind opening PROTON DX. The experience centre has been a platform for STEM-related activities since opening, both as an organiser and event space, for enthusiasts of all ages to learn and experience. Approaching its one-year anniversary, PROTON DX will continue our initiatives to raise the level of technological awareness and knowledge of Malaysians,” said ACO Tech’s CEO, Mr. Li Pu.PROTON DX_Virtual Cockpit_PROTON Digital Experience Kuala Lumpur_ACO Tech

To maximise the facility’s impact, PROTON DX welcomes collaborations with local companies to organise events and workshops aimed at promoting STEM awareness and education among Malaysian youth. The centre also welcomes visitors of all ages to explore its facilities, including the Virtual Cockpit, which offers an immersive experience of smart mobility. PROTON DX is also able to model a bespoke virtual cockpit experience for partners at trade shows such as E-Mobility Asia.

The PROTON Digital Xperience centre is located in Quill City Mall in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, and has an expansive 5,000 square feet of space to accommodate about 40 guests at a time. It also has a private VIP lounge fitted with an 86″ TV for presentations and meetings. With a thoughtfully laid out floor plan, PROTON DX serves as more than just a learning centre; it can also host community engagements, networking sessions and barista classes by its own certified baristas.
