Allianz Road Rangers Ensure Safe Hari Raya Travels With Comprehensive Roadside Assistance
With the intense cross-country travel for so many Malaysians this Hari Raya period, it is crucial to keep in mind that unforeseen accidents or breakdowns can occur while on the road. With safety as the utmost priority, precautions must therefore be taken to ensure a safe and smooth journey for all.
From 6 to 14 April 2024, Allianz General will strategically position its fleet of Allianz Road Rangers at locations accessible to major highways, ensuring prompt assistance to motorists in need. This proactive measure is aimed at helping to keep traffic flow as smooth as possible during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festive period in the event of a breakdown or accident. Last year’s Hari Raya travel season recorded a total of 12,407 road accidents and 146 fatalities during Ops Selamat 20.
“Safety is paramount and this should always be the first thing on our minds as we plan our balik kampung journey. We have more than 3 million motor policies and it is important that we are able to provide them with the best assistance and services, especially in their times of need. Our Road Rangers will be deployed at various locations to provide the necessary roadside assistance,” commented Allianz Malaysia Berhad and Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad CEO Sean Wang.
With a fleet of over 300 tow trucks stationed nationwide at strategic locations with easy access to highways, the Allianz Road Rangers offer comprehensive roadside assistance tailored to various vehicle segments, including Private Cars, Motorcycles, Goods-Carrying Vehicles, and Electric Vehicles (EV). Services range from quick repairs to towing vehicles to accredited workshops, all subjected to the entitlements and terms as outlined in the policy. Furthermore, Motor Comprehensive policyholders can bypass the hassle of dealing with touts and dubious workshops by simply calling 1-800-22-5542 for end-to-end insurance service in the event of an accident. 
To complement Allianz’s efforts, motorists are advised to conduct basic vehicle checks before embarking on their journeys. These include ensuring proper vehicle servicing, inflating tyres to the manufacturer’s recommended pressure, inspecting tyre treads for long-distance driving suitability, addressing dashboard warning signals promptly, and ensuring sufficient battery water levels. Also, do not ignore the importance of adequate rest and sleep especially for the drivers who are making long journeys.
