GWM Ora 07 EV Launched In Malaysia
Great Wall Motor (GWM) Malaysia has launched the GWM Ora 07 EV coupe, subsequent to a preview about a month ago. As revealed previously, the GWM Ora 07 is available in 2 variants i.e. Ora 07 Long Range Ultra and Ora 07 Performance. 
Like its name suggests the GWM Ora 07 Long Range Ultra is capable of a driving range of up to 640 km (NEDC cycle). Moving the car along is a single permanent magnet synchronous electric motor sending 204 PS (201 hp) and 340 Nm of torque to the front wheels. This is powered by a 83.499 kWh battery pack which takes 32 minutes to charge from 30% to 80% state-of-charge via DC fast charging (88 kw). With 11 kW AC charging, it will take 15 hours to go from 0% to 100%.
On the other hand, the 07 Performance doubles the power output (408 PS & 680 Nm) with 2 electric motors turning all 4 wheels. Driving range however, is reduced to 550 km (NEDC) as it uses the same capacity ternary lithium battery pack. The battery pack is built with a 5-fold system for added protection and safety. Both variants are also capable of Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) of up to 3.3 kW, to power devices and appliances.
The difference between the 2 variants, other than the power output, is the availability of the Sport+ driving mode for the 07 Performance to give it a boost in performance. The 07 Long Range Ultra makes do with just the other 5 driving modes i.e. Normal, Well-being, Eco, Individual and Sport. The Long Range can do the century sprint in 4.3 seconds (vs 7.9 seconds for Long Range Ultra) and speed is capped at 180 km/h (vs 170 km/h for Long Range Ultra). Though not affecting performance, the Performance variant uses brake calipers in red while the Long Range calipers are silver. However, the tyres would make a difference in performance and handling with the Performance fitted with 235/45 R19 Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyres while the Long Range Ultra gets 235/50 R18 Hankook Ventus S1 Evo 3 EV tyres. 
Another difference is the interior colour scheme. The Long Range Ultra comes in black while Performance is in brown. However, buyers of the 07 Long Range Ultra can opt to upgrade to a brown interior for an additional RM2,500. Notable interior features include 6-way adjustable driver’s seat with position memory, 4-way adjustable front passenger’s seat, massage and ventilation functions for front seats, 60:40 folding rear seats, rear air vents, climate control with PM 2.5 filtration, head-up display, 10.25″ digital cluster display, 12.3″ infotainment touchscreen, 11 Infinity speakers, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 50W wireless charger, USB ports in the front and rear, panoramic glass roof, and ambient lighting.
The GWM Ora 07 coupe has a wheelbase of 2,870 mm, with a body measuring 4,871 mm in length, 1,862 mm in width, and 1,500 mm in height. Its fastback / coupe styling optimises aerodynamics (drag coefficient of 0.22) to enhance the overall performance. Some of the physical features that help with aerodynamics include the flushed door handles, electric rear spoiler, and active air intake grille.
The 2 variants also come with a comprehensive ADAS suite which makes use of multiple cameras, ultrasonic sensors and millimeter wave radars, including Intelligent Parking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Intelligent Cruise Control, Traffic Jam Assist, Front Collision Warning, Auto Emergency Braking (with Pedestrian and Bicycle detection, and Junction Assist), Parking Distance Control, Rear Cross Traffic Alert with Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Emergency Lane Keeping Assist, Intelligent Evade, Lange Change Assistant, Traffic Sign Recognition, Overspeed Alert, Intelligent Speed Alert, Secondary Collision Mitigation, Auto Collision Unlock, Emergency Signal System, Adaptive Brake Assist, Door Opening Warning, Rear Collision Warning, and Blind Spot Detection. Other features include an Event Data Recorder, 360-degree camera, Hill Start Assist, Auto Hold, Brake Electronic Booster and Blind Spot Detection. There is also a Car Wash mode which closes all windows, spoiler and side mirrors. Physical features that aid safety include a cage-style high strength body with the A and B pillars capable of withstanding 2,000 MPa (Mega Pascal unit) and roof pillars handling 1,500 MPa. 1 MPa is 145 psi. 
The GWM Ora 07 Long Range Ultra has a retail price of RM169,800 while the Ora 07 Performance is priced at RM189,800.
The Ora 07 comes with a 6-year or 150,000 km full vehicle warranty, and an 8-year or 180,000 km warranty for the power battery, electric motor and electric motor control unit. Additionally, there is a 12-year car rust and corrosion warranty and a 1-to-1 battery replacement if the battery’s state-of-charge falls below 70%.
Furthermore, the first 500 buyers will receive a complimentary home wallbox charger and an additional 2-year warranty to make it 8 years or 180,000 km (whichever comes first).
