Daihatsu Gran Max Stays As Top Choice For Light Commercial Van / Pickup In Malaysia
The Daihatsu Gran Max continues to be the top choice for businesses and entrepreneurs who need a light commercial panel van or pickup. According to Daihatsu Malaysia, it had sold 1,190 units of the Gran Max in 2022, making it the No. 1 Pickup & Panel Van model* in light commercial vehicle segment (below 2.0L).
The company’s sales, as well as the overall business environment, faced numerous challenges and supply disruptions last year, which also affected its customers. Despite the obstacles, Daihatsu Malaysia still managed a strong overall sales performance. This is mainly attributed to the introduction of Gran Max Minor Change (MC) in June 2022, in addition to consistent fleet support.
The Gran Max pick-up and panel van were given a minor change with new updates added, such as power windows, a multimedia player system, reverse camera and a 12v/24v fast charging USB port.
“Keeping in mind that convenience and practicality are one of the strongest consideration aspects for commercial vehicle usage, Daihatsu Malaysia aims to deliver an overall driving experience in providing comfort, reliability, safety and above all convenience and practicality in every drive. For that, we believe the Gran Max (MC) receives positive reception, thus contributing to 2022 sales,” said Arman Mahadi, Managing Director of Daihatsu (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.
“We are ever grateful to all of our corporate and individual customers for their perpetual support towards the Daihatsu brand and our sincerest appreciation also goes out to all Daihatsu dealer, business associates who overcame a challenging year together,” added Arman.
As the company puts more new vehicles on the road, it also has to maintain a reliable level of aftersales service. The company is seeing a steady trend in its service intake growth especially in the past 5 years. The increasing volume of service intake is also in line with the growth in overall sales. This is aided by its consistent fleet sales support over the course of 3 years with comprehensive service retention programmed for its dedicated fleet customers.
The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) had announced that a total of 78,885 units of commercial vehicles (CV) were registered in 2022. This is about 25% higher than the forecasted TIV (total industry volume), showing that demand for the CV segment is still unceasing as companies continue to invest in its fleets. As such, Daihatsu Malaysia is looking forward to implement its business transformation plan and nationwide dealer network expansion in 2023.
As the exclusive distributor of Daihatsu commercial vehicles in Malaysia, expanding and improving customer reach had always been a top priority. Building a more comprehensive distribution network will allow the brand to reach new customers and also to build brand recognition to stay competitive.
Daihatsu Malaysia believes that providing suitable and reliable products to meet its customers’ needs, as well as delivering the best quality aftersales service will be the best way to carry the brand forward.
“At the end of the day, making our customers, even our dealers and business partners happy and well satisfied is what matters most! Putting a smile and providing happiness to them, as a side effect will harvest trust followed with loyalty and investment in return. And for that, we are forever grateful to our valued customers and associates for their endless support,” remarked Arman.
