BMW And Seong Hoe Premium Motors Electrify 32nd Malaysian Film Festival With 7 Series Hybrid
BMW Group Malaysia and Seong Hoe Premium Motors recently electrified the 32nd Malaysian Film Festival with its 7 Series hybrid luxury sedan. A fleet of 6 BMW 740Le xDrive M Sport were provided to the National Film Development Corporation (FINAS) for the film festival held in Melaka recently.
For this occasion, the top 5 nominees of each category awarded at the festival were treated to a special chauffeured ride in the luxurious hybrid sedan, offering them an exclusive experience of electrified opulence.

The BMW Group is no stranger to the filmmaking scene. Globally, it has been a patron of the arts for over 80 years. From the 1935 German film, Die Katz’ im Sack, to the recent Marvel Studios production of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, the premium automaker continues to find new ways to champion the creative industry worldwide.
On the ground in Malaysia, BMW Group Malaysia has been a strong supporter of the local arts and filmmaking scene. The BMW Shorties has served as an influential platform to encourage and support the creative expressions of emerging Malaysian filmmakers and digital content creators over the last 16 years. Over 1,000 entries have been submitted to the BMW Shorties for its annual short film competition since 2006. And quite a number of these have been screened at prestigious international film festivals such as Cannes, New York, Rotterdam, Oberhausen, Rome, Clermont-Ferrand and many more.
The 10 finalists for BMW Shorties 2022 have been named from over 90 submissions. The BMW Shorties panel of judges will announce its 15th Grand Prize Winner on 10 December 2022 (Saturday). The winner will receive RM80,000 in production grant.
In addition, recognition for filmmaking talent will also be awarded in an extensive range of supporting categories including Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, Best Editing, Best Sound Design and the People’s Choice Award, along with the Best Student Shorties Award.
Short films and digital content by the BMW Shorties 2022’s Top 10 Finalists are now available for public viewing and voting on the BMW Shorties’ website HERE. Everyone is invited to vote for your favoured People’s Choice Award winner from now until 10 December 2022 (6:00 PM).
Incidentally, the BMW Shorties will be taking over Petaling Street, Kwai Chai Hong and its surrounding areas for a day on Saturday, 10 December from 12 PM for a day to celebrate Art, Music, Film and Digital Content creation, along with a guided photowalk session (limited to 10 pax, pre-registration required).
Over at REXKL, members of the public can catch the screening of the Top 10 Finalists’ films starting from 2:30 PM as part of the BMW Shorties 2022 festival.
