Inaugural MANTAP! Event A Hit With Truckers Down South

MAN Truck & Bus (M) Sdn Bhd, also referred to as MAN Malaysia, recently held its first MANTAP! (MAN Test and Prove!) event at its Johor Bahru branch. The inaugural event was arranged to enable transporters and truckers in the Southern region to test drive the New MAN Truck Generation on the road and discover why it leads the way in driver orientation, fuel efficiency, assistance systems, digital networking and, sustainability. MAN is the first truck manufacturer in Malaysia to offer Euro 5 compliant engines as standard.

According to MAN Malaysia Managing Director, Andrew O’Brooks, the company wants to grow its market presence in the Southern region. “There has been strong interest in this region since the launch of our New MAN Truck Generation. MANTAP! was an invitation to the transport community in the South to come and test drive this groundbreaking solution from MAN and for us to prove how good it really is in almost every aspect compared to other trucks in the market,” he said.

The first to arrive at the event was HSE Logistics Sdn Bhd director, Mohd Hairiy bin Abu Rasid, from Tangkak.  He welcomed such an initiative by MAN Malaysia to showcase its products. “MAN Trucks are renowned for their pulling and braking power and ideal for heavy duty tasks but few owners and truckers in this region have had the opportunity to test drive them, especially the New MAN Truck Generation model, until now. I am very impressed with the New MAN TGX flagship with its spacious high cabin and 540 hp engine and plan to purchase one next year”.

Meanwhile, Tuan Haji Dzulfariqh bin Abdul Manap, owner of Chain Hub Sdn Bhd, took the opportunity to bring 9 of his drivers to the test drive event. “It was a very well organised event that should perhaps be held nearer to where the drivers gather so that more of them could experience this latest Truck from MAN. All my drivers gave very positive feedback after driving the New MAN TGS. In fact, I have placed an order for 2 units and look forward to these new additions to my fleet,” he said.

The New MAN Truck Generation is completely re-developed by MAN Truck & Bus with input from 300 fleet owners and 700 drivers from 16 countries. In Malaysia, the trucks are fitted with Euro 5 engines as standard and enable businesses to achieve both business profitability and environmental responsibility.
