Mercedes-Benz GLC 300e Coupé And Refreshed Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 Now Available In Malaysia

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has added 2 models to its range of SUVs i.e. the locally-assembled Mercedes-Benz GLC 300e 4MATIC Coupé plug-in hybrid, and the Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 4MATIC that has been refreshed.

The vehicle is now more efficient overall, because it has the ability to recover energy during braking and allows the combustion engine to run in favourable operating ranges,” said Michael Jopp, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia. “We are also proud to announce the Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 4MATIC, which now comes with various vehicle upgrades, to enhance its driving experience for our customers. This compact SUV is not only sport but self-assured on the road”.

The Mercedes-Benz GLC 300e 4MATIC Coupé is a mash of SUV and Coupé forms for a sportier look with practicality. As the new sole variant, the GLC 300e 4MATIC Coupé uses a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine in combination with an electric motor to produce a combined output of 320 hp and 700 Nm. In full electric mode, the GLC 300e has a driving range of more than 40 km with proper driving style.

Highlights in the front include the contoured diamond radiator grille with integrated star and single louvre typical of a Coupé, complemented by the distinctive air intakes and new contours of the standard-fit MULTIBEAM LED headlamps with Adaptive Highbeam Assist. This SUV Coupé features the AMG Line specifications and Night package, including the 50.8 cm (20″) AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels and braking system with larger front disc brakes.

Meanwhile, the interior gets trim elements in open-pore black ash wood in the centre stack, with aluminium trim going across the dashboard. The multi-function sports steering wheel is wrapped in premium nappa leather and complements the AMG Line interior and leather upholstery. The seats feature 4-way lumbar support.

Furthermore, the multifunctional touchpad improves the car’s operations. In addition, the all-digital instrument display pairs perfectly with the media display, and is equipped with the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system, with its intuitive logic and a wide range of control options.

On safety, the GLC 300e 4MATIC Coupé includes Active Lane Keeping Assist, which provides assistance for the driver to stay in lane when manoeuvring. It also features Blind Spot Assist and Active Brake Assist for enhanced driving safety.

Also included is the Parking Package with a 360° camera offering all-round visibility. It includes the Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC feature, the URBAN GUARD vehicle protection, and the anti-theft alarm system with an interior monitoring system that is triggered when there is movement within the cabin. As a plug-in hybrid, the GLC 300e 4MATIC Coupé will come with a charging cable for domestic charging. Called the Mode 2 cable, you can charge the battery via a household socket at up to 1.8 kW (230 V, 1-phase, 8 A), and is suitable for type G BS 1363 sockets. The on-board charger strikes an ideal compromise between size, weight and charging capacity.

Other than your home’s power supply, convenient and uncomplicated charging is possible during a journey too. The MBUX infotainment system can assist you in finding charging stations. All you need to say is “Hey Mercedes, find charging stations nearby”, as the system is designed to understand natural speech.

This high-riding 4-door Coupé is available at the recommended retail price of RM374,073.67, valid until the end of the Sales Tax exemption period on 30 June 2022 (on the road without insurance). Subsequently, the retail price will be RM398,888.

As for the Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 4MATIC, it is now equipped with the Parking Package with 360° camera, a head-up display, AMG Performance steering wheel in nappa leather with AMG steering buttons, and MBUX Interior Assistant for an enhanced driving experience.

Moreover, the vehicle has surround lighting with a light projection of the brand’s logo.

The GLB 35 4MATIC has a recommended retail price of RM392,582.31, valid until 30 June 2022. From 1 July, the price will be RM405,888 (on the road without insurance).
