A Durian Trip With Ford Ranger
If you are a Ford Ranger owner and love durian, then free up your calendar on 18 June 2022. After a successful outing in Sepang with Ranger owners a couple of months back, Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC) is now organising another Ford Ranger Getaways activity. This time, the adventure includes durian. Ford Ranger Getaways is a community and experiential platform designed to provide customers with a unique experience of Living the Ranger Life through a series of handpicked local adventures.
The first Ranger/Raptor Training Experience held on 26 March 2022 in Sepang was a big hit with owners. This experience gave them the chance to discover the full capabilities of their lifestyle and performance pickup with guidance from professional instructors. Participants got to try their pickup on a series of tarmac and off-road driving scenarios at the Sepang International Circuit and within the district of Sepang.
Based on feedback from customers who attended the Ranger/Raptor Training in Sepang, the experience was more than what they had expected, especially in terms of getting acquainted with what their vehicle was capable of. And even though the event was held in Sepang, it also attracted some out-of-state owners from Ipoh, Kuantan and Johor Bahru.
“A segment first in Malaysia where customers can make bookings via a digital platform, these specially curated outings aim to offer opportunities for customers, their friends and families to get together and build camaraderie with like-minded individuals while supporting domestic tourism that has been impacted by the pandemic,” said Turse Zuhair, Managing Director, Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford.
The 2-in-1 off-road course on 18 June will begin at Ford Juru, Penang. Participants are expected to gather there with other Ranger owners and their companions. The group will then head to Jeti Batu Musang where they will have the chance to test the limits of their Rangers in various on- and off-road courses, under the guidance of a professional driving instructor. The course will include water wading, jungle track driving, and light rock climbing, among others.
After the 4×4 experience, participants will then head to Balik Pulau, a well-known spot for durians on Penang island. The Green Acres Orchard will be booked exclusively for this getaway. After a short tour of the orchard, you will get the chance to kick back and savour the all-you-can-eat durian buffet, and a lunch.
This particular getaway is priced at RM976 per Ranger, for a recommended maximum of 4 persons per vehicle.
