Ferrari To Use Qualcomm Technology In Its Future Cars

Ferrari_HQFerrari N.V. has entered into a strategic partnership with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. to use its technology in its future cars and drive the brand’s digital transformation. Qualcomm will provide systems solutions and technical expertise for the development of its upcoming road cars. Through this partnership, Qualcomm will also be a Premium Partner for the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team as well as the Ferrari eSports team.

Scuderia Ferrari will be launching its F1-75 challenger for the 2022 F1 season on 17 February, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon brand will be featured as part of the car’s livery. The Snapdragon branding is already on the new team polo shirts unveiled a few days ago.

For its road cars, Ferrari will work with Qualcomm Technologies to utilise the capabilities of the Snapdragon Digital Chassis to benefit the driver. The Snapdragon Digital Chassis is comprised of open and scalable cloud-connected platforms needed for next-generation vehicles. This includes telematics and connectivity, the digital cockpit, as well as ADAS functions.

As a part of the agreement, Qualcomm Technologies and its partners will also work with Ferrari to design, develop and integrate Ferrari’s digital cockpits. With this partnership, Ferrari will be able to bring the latest automotive technology advancements to its cars and utilise a unified architecture to deliver enhanced safety and immersive digital experiences that are update-able throughout the lifetime of the vehicle.Qualcomm Snapdragon Digital Chassis

Ferrari joins a growing list of leading automotive OEMs which will be leveraging the Snapdragon Digital Chassis to help usher in a new era of motoring. The list includes, BMW, General Motors, Hyundai, JiDU, JETOUR, Mahindra, NIO, Renault, SAIC, Volvo, WM Motor, and XPeng.
