KINTO ONE Car Subscription Programme From Toyota Offers More Options

The KINTO ONE car subscription programme is a subscription service that allows one to drive a car without having actual ownership of it. The term “kinto” is derived from “kinto’un” which fans of Dragon Ball Z know as the ‘flying nimbus’. It represents a service that quickly appears and, no matter where you are or what time it is, takes you wherever you wish to go.

In Malaysia, this programme is a strategic collaboration between Toyota Capital Malaysia Sdn Bhd and UMW Toyota Motor as part of the local early mover transition to realising Toyota’s ambition to become a mobility company.

However, its launch came at an inopportune time. “Soon after we launched KINTO ONE, the country was ushered into another major lockdown and this has encouraged us to be more adaptive of the local happenings. Through our spirit of Kaizen and structured discipline in product development, we took advantage of the recent lockdown to improve our KINTO ONE features,” said Thomas Chai, President of Toyota Capital Malaysia. “We listen closely to what the market needs and has come up with additional varieties of KINTO ONE to cater to the growing car subscription market” he added.

There are no worries of residual value nor the worries of selling off the car after years of ownership.

With the newly enhanced KINTO ONE features, programme subscribers can now have to option to choose from different annual mileage packages starting from 20,000 km to 30,000 km. There is also an option for a longer subscription period of up to 5 years.

Additionally, KINTO ONE now comes with a Lite Package option, a reaction to the current market demand where customers now travel less but still require an easy car ‘usership’ programme. These available options offer more flexibility for customers to choose a package that suits their needs and enhance the value of the programme.

There is also an increasing demand from companies for full-service leasing of fleet vehicles. To cater to this, KINTO ONE Business is designed to appeal to companies that want to be light on their asset portfolio and reduce unnecessary administrative work. Like KINTO ONE, companies can subscribe to KINTO ONE Business for commercial usage vehicles. This service will ease fleet management for the companies, and provide peace of mind as everything related to the vehicle will be taken care of throughout the subscription period.

The KINTO mobility solution aims to provide simplicity to its customers, with the goal of making it easy and painless for fleet managers and individual subscribers. The current models available for KINTO ONE subscription includes popular models of Lexus and Toyota, including the Hilux and Hiace.
