Perodua Aruz Updated With New Features; Prices Unchanged
The Perodua Aruz has been updated with new features for 2021, with retail prices remaining unchanged. The price for the Perodua Aruz X variant stays at RM68,526, while the Aruz AV variant is still RM73,226 (on the road without insurance in Peninsular Malaysia).
Both the aforementioned variants of Malaysia’s best-selling 7-seater SUV now get side steps to ease ingress and egress, as well as an automatic door-locking function above 20 km/h. The doors will however, automatically unlock in the event of a collision.
Additionally, there is a new Passion Red body colour joining the existing palette of Granite Grey, Electric Blue, Glittering Silver and Ivory White. This new colour is however, exclusive to the AV variant.
“Perodua expresses our gratitude to all our valued customers, whose feedback helped us tweak the Aruz to better satisfy the real needs and wants of the majority of Malaysians,” said Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad.
“With well over 60,000 sold since its 2019 birth, the Perodua Aruz was already the nation’s best-selling SUV in 2019 and 2020, but, true to the principles of Kaizen, we believe there are always ways we can make our products incrementally better. This incremental adaptation of the Aruz is in line with the Perodua Smart Build blueprint; another example of our symbiotic collaboration with our suppliers to customise our products to better suit Malaysian needs and wants, and through this, developing further the capabilities of our suppliers towards true self-reliance,” he added.
The Aruz is powered by the trusty 1.5L 4-cylinder aluminium block engine with Dual VVT-i paired with an electronically controlled automatic transmission. Rated as an Energy-Efficient Vehicle (EEV), the Perodua Aruz offers fuel efficiency of up to 15.6 km/l.
This practical and versatile 7-seater SUV is fitted with LED headlamps, 17″ two-tone alloys, keyless entry and start, as well as a touchscreen infotainment system with reverse camera display. Exclusive to the Aruz AV are auto headlamps, front fog lamps, leather seats, HDMI, Smart Link, navigation and an integrated driving video recorder.
Cabin space versatility comes in the form of its 60:40-split second row and 50:50-split third row seats that can be slid, folded and tumbled for a variety of seating and loading configurations.
Safety kit includes 6 airbags and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) as standard. The Aruz AV also has the Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) 2.0 suite of driver assistance systems, giving the Aruz a maximum 5-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating.
“Of all our models, the Perodua Aruz benefitted the most from the government’s sales tax exemption – its prices dropped by 6%, or over RM4,000. So if you’ve been eyeing an Aruz, book now – the exemption is slated to end in under 60 days,” said Dato’ Zainal.
