You can now experience “The Boss”, the all-new BMW X5 xDrive45e M Sport, in its digital glory. To give potential buyers an off-site experience, BMW Malaysia has introduced a web-based augmented reality (AR) experience for the X5, a first for the BMW portfolio in Malaysia.

The Boss, the All-New BMW X5, embodies a modern luxury that is both electrifying and progressive in nature. Therefore, we chose to bring The Boss to life in full AR for our customers to enjoy. This experience exemplifies its innovative character perfectly,” said Harald Hoelzl, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia.
The web-based AR experience allows users to see, hear, and experience The Boss, without the use of a specific mobile application nor fancy gadgets. Users only need to visit a dedicated link that is accessible from any smartphone to begin the journey.
The AR experience presents a virtual 3D model of the X5 xDrive45e M Sport. Users will be able to tap on the image to virtually place in any location seen via the phone’s camera. You can also pinch the vehicle image to resize and reposition virtually in your space, e.g. your driveway. Switching to the different exterior colours of the X5 (Phytonic Blue, Black Sapphire, Mineral White and Artic Grey) is also possible and easy.
The AR will also provide you a 360° view by sliding the image in any direction. Further, tapping on marked hotspots of the vehicle will allow you to learn more about the features.
