Renault Malaysia Updates Its Subscription Plans And E-Store With More Offers

It’s no surprise that our lives are greatly impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, and with that, the way we do business or make transactions will also have to change to suit the current lifestyle. Renault in Malaysia, through its franchise holder TC Euro Cars (TCEC), has been working hard to change its business model to adapt to this new lifestyle.

Renault E-Store_MalaysiaIts vehicle subscription plan was launched sometime in July 2019 to offer consumers a choice to the conventional leasing or full-on purchase options. In view of the challenging times ahead, TCEC has updated and expanded its Renault Subscription and E-Store offerings, to further solidify its digital leadership position within the local automotive industry, and taking into account the consumer’s position in this new era. This update was also done via a virtual media event, another first in the country for the industry.

Digital transformation is now key for businesses and brands to stay relevant in an even more competitive landscape,” said Wong Hoe Mun, CEO of TC Euro Cars. “To stay ahead of the curve, here at TCEC, we kick-started our transformation journey last year. With the current COVID-19 pandemic and MCO, digital-first has been accelerated and we believe we are headed the right direction towards future-proofing our business.”

“We are proud that no other offering in the industry is further ahead in the digital journey than Renault Subscription and Renault E-Store. The new norm will require social distancing. Consumers will need their personal transportation more than ever and we believe the revised subscription plans will be more appealing to them,” he added.

Renault Subscription Expanded And Updated

With more emphasis on physical distancing, especially after the MCO is lifted and everyone gets back to a relatively normal life, there could be a stronger demand for personal vehicles by those who opt out of using on public transportation. With this possible trend, TCEC has tweaked its subscription plans with a range of options to provide affordability, freedom and flexibility for every Malaysian. Whether you choose to subscribe for the short-term, medium- or long-term usage, there is a plan available.

Renault Subscription Trial Plan

Renault Subscription_Trial Plan_CapturThe Renault Subscription Trial Plan was initially meant as a short-term introduction to Renault vehicles and the concept of subscription. It was a pilot project at the Renault PJ showroom but TCEC has now expanded the Renault Subscription Trial Plan to all Renault showrooms in the country. The Renault Subscription Trial Plan is an affordable plan that offers the Captur crossover at RM399 per week. More importantly, you are now allowed to sign up unlimited times as opposed to the previous one-time only offer.

TCEC hopes that this move will help customers who may have had their budgets impacted by the Movement Control Order (MCO), or who are not keen on long-term commitments in this time of economic uncertainty.

Renault Subscription Fixed and Switch Plan

TCEC also adjusted the Renault Subscription Fixed and Switch Plans to better meet customer needs and wants. To balance affordability and customer confidence, the Fixed Plan now includes a three-year plan for the Captur crossover and Koleos SUV. Previously, only the Megane R.S. 280 Cup came with a three-year subscription.

All monthly rates under the Fixed Plan still include road tax, insurance, regular servicing costs and an annual mileage cap of 20,000 km. With the new updates, you can now increase the mileage cap to a total 40,000 km.

The Switch Base Plan now offers the Captur Trophy at RM1,999 per month, while the Switch Prime Plan now offers the Koleos at RM3,199 per month. Under the new Prime Plan, you will have two months of Renault family access. Both Switch Plans continue to offer all-inclusive costs and flexibility with no mileage cap, wear and tear coverage and the option to cancel at any time with no penalties. There is also an expanded list of optional accessories and access including security and solar films, child seats, digital video recorders and land access to Singapore.

In terms of affordability, the options cost can be included in the monthly fee across the subscription duration instead of paying in one lump sum up front. The Renault Subscription offerings now include Subscription Trial, Fixed and Switch Plans as well as the recently launched Pre-Owned Captur Subscription.

The Pre-Owned Captur Subscription was launched on Renault E-Store and Shopee on 22 April 2020 and managed to gather more than 100 paid bookings within three days.

TCEC Easy Life To Extend Support To Customers

As many customers may choose to keep their vehicles for a longer period, TCEC understands that they are looking for support from brands in the maintenance of the vehicles. As such, TCEC is focused on delivering Easy Life – a key pillar in Renault’s brand promise through:

  • A seamless end-to-end purchase or subscription process online via the E-Store, from arranging for test drives to taking delivery of the vehicle
  • Door-to-door service where customers can request for delivery of their purchased or subscribed vehicles as well as pick-up and drop-off for serviced vehicles, through online bookings via Renault E-Store (available within Klang Valley)
  • Promotions for tyres with a 25% discount on each tyre inclusive of free balancing and over 10% off on batteries
  • Extended warranty for customers who need additional time to catch up on their servicing needs and extended operating hours for the service centres once MCO is lifted
Test Drive On Your Own For 3 Hours

If you are unfamiliar with Renault vehicles, TCEC has arranged for lone test drives via its partner GoCar Malaysia, of the Renault Captur. You are free to drive the car on your own i.e. with no sales person present, on the route of your choice, and with no obligation, for three hours. Should you wish to extend this test drive period for longer than the allotted three hours, you can do so in the GoCar app (charges apply).

Mobility On The Go

Additionally, TCEC also shared a brief preview of what is to come for Renault Subscription customers. The company is working on a new mobile application through which customers will be able to manage their Subscription vehicle.

Key functions of the app will include:

  • Vehicle Dashboard
  • Location Tracking
  • Lock / Unlock
  • Trip History
  • Car Sharing
  • Reminders
  • Emergency Calls
  • Bluetooth Connectivity

This mobile app for Renault Subscription customers is scheduled for a June 2020 roll out and full functionality will be shared with customers closer to the launch. While continuing to drive a digital-first approach, TCEC remains committed to prioritising the personal touch that customers demand. To do this, the company created its Digital Engagement Team dedicated to delivering robust customer relations via one-to-one calls to ensure close coordination and follow-ups.
