Honda Civic_Back View_2020Honda Malaysia recently launched the 2020 Honda Civic facelift. The updated C-segment leader in Malaysia now features Honda SENSING suite of advanced safety technology. The 10th generation Civic had a dominant 72% market share in 2019. In total, Honda Malaysia has sold over 135,000 units of the Civic and contributing to Honda’s position as No. 1 in the Non-National car brand for the 5th consecutive year.

There are three variants of the locally assembled Civic facelift for sale i.e. Civic 1.8S, Civic 1.5TC and the range-topping Civic 1.5TC-P. The on-the-road prices (without insurance) are RM113,600, RM129,600 and RM139,600 respectively.

Engine output remains the same as the pre-facelift. The 1.8S is powered by a 1.8L normally aspirated SOHC engine with 141 PS and 174 Nm of torque, and the 1.5TC variants use a 1.5L turbocharged VTEC with 173 PS and 220 Nm of torque, which is equivalent to a 2.4L naturally aspirated engine’s performance. These engines are mated with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

I believe that the New Civic is a complete car for C-segment buyers with its D-segment features.”

For the exterior, the new Civic gets updated with redesigned bumpers front and back. The 1.5TC-P variant stands out with a piano black wing front grille (as opposed to chrome). It also gets a trunk spoiler with integrated third brake lamp. The 1.5TC-P also gets new 18″ Black Alloy Wheels.

Another notable feature in the cabin is the 7″ Advanced Display Audio head unit with physical buttons instead of a touch panel. Only the TC-P has a dual zone climate control while the others have single zone.
