The 2019 Mazda CX-5, including the new 2.5L SkyActiv-G Turbo variant, had been open for bookings for interested buyers since early September when Bermaz held several roadshows with the updated SUV on display. And now, Bermaz has finally confirmed the retail prices for the 2019 Mazda CX-5.
There are five variants of this popular SUV: 2.0L 2WD MID; 2.0L 2WD HIGH; 2.5L 2WD HIGH; 2.2L 2WD HIGH; and 2.5L AWD HIGH T/C.
With the exception of the 2.2L variant which uses the SkyActiv-D turbocharged diesel engine, the others are driven by SkyActiv-G petrol powerplants. Also, as mentioned in an earlier article, the updated CX-5 line-up now includes a 2.5L SkyActiv-G turbocharged petrol variant which replaces a diesel one at the top of the range. Every variant uses the 6-speed SkyActiv Drive automatic transmission to place powers to either the front wheels or all wheels, depending on the variant.
To recap, the SkyActiv-G 2.0L naturally aspirated engine produces 162 hp @ 6,000 rpm and 213 Nm @ 4,000 rpm, while the SkyActiv-G 2.5L puts out 192 hp @ 6,000 rpm and 258 Nm @ 4,000 rpm, and the diesel-powered SkyActiv-D 2.2L has 173 hp @ 4,500 rpm and 420 Nm from 2,000 rpm. Meanwhile, the SkyActiv-G 2.5L Turbocharged engine produces 227 hp @ 5,000 rpm and 420 Nm from 2,000 rpm and uses a two-stage turbine to reduce lag and provide smooth, linear acceleration.
Features you can find in the locally-assembled updated CX-5 include G-Vectoring Control Plus (a software control system which provides better steering stability and confidence), Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, LED automatic headlamps with auto levelling, and i-ActivSense advanced safety features which include, but are not limited to, the Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA), and Smart City Brake Support (Front & Rear). The latter is omitted from the base 2.0L 2WD MID variant.
For body colour, there is a choice of Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, Snowflake White Pearl, Deep Crystal Blue, Sonic Silver, Meteor Gray, Jet Black and Arctic White.
