Aone Logistics First To Sign Scania Ecolution Partnership In Asia
Logistics solutions provider, Aone Logistics Sdn Bhd, has signed the Scania Ecolution truck agreement with Scania Malaysia, making it the first to do so in Asia.
Scania Ecolution is a partnership programme that is tailor-made by Scania for its customers to help customers ultimately reduce operating costs and improve profitability, while being eco-friendly. This is done by various means such as vehicle optimisation and agreed fuel and CO2 emissions reduction targets, depending on the partners operational requirements. The progress to reach the targets will be regularly monitored, evaluated and discussed with the Scania Ecolution Manager to ensure the company is on-track to achieve the desired result.
The Ecolution partnership agreement was signed by Scania Southeast Asia Managing Director, Marie Sjödin Enström and Aone Logistics Sdn Bhd Managing Director, S. Palani at the Malaysia Commercial Vehicle Expo 2019, witnessed by Dato’ Kamarudin Jaffar, Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Transport and Dag Juhlin-Dannfelt, the Swedish Ambassador to Malaysia.
“At Scania, we believe that sustainability and profitability can go hand-in-hand and Scania Ecolution will facilitate the shift towards a sustainable transport system. This is a holistic approach towards a more responsible and sustainable transportation of people and goods,” said Marie Sjödin Enström.
“Malaysia has in its participation to the Paris Agreement voluntarily committed to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions intensity by 35-45% by 2030 (from the 2005 baseline). By working together with local operators, Scania Ecolution model is one of the many solutions to help meet that commitment,” added Marie.
Aone Logistics Sdn Bhd had acquired its first fleet of 15 Scania G-Series trucks earlier this year to facilitate the expansion of its trucking and haulage requirements. The acquisition was made on hire purchase terms and included a Repair and Maintenance contract as well as Scania Fleet Care. The Scania Ecolution agreement will help Aone Logistics further optimise their operations.
“Aside from the performance, safety, and reliability of Scania trucks, Scania Ecolution will help my business in terms of discovering cost savings in every detail of our operations. The reduction of CO2 emissions and better fuel efficiency that comes with it also fulfils one of Aone Logistics’s commitment to protecting the environment,” commented Aone Logistics Sdn Bhd Managing Director, S. Palani.
This year’s MCVE also saw the signing of the first Scania Ecolution partnership in the southern region Naidu Trans Logistics Sdn Bhd. Established since 2002, Naidu Trans Logistics Sdn Bhd is a Johor-based logistics and transportation company specialising in road transportation and warehouse services. The company operates more than 20 Scania trucks with their latest Scania trucks delivered in July 2018.
“Having a sustainable transport solution is very important to Naidu Trans Logistics Sdn Bhd as our trucks are always on the road transporting goods across the country. Our partnership with Scania through Scania Ecolution ensures that we can reach our desired business targets and profitability while minimising our impact on the environment,” cited Naidu Trans Logistics Sdn Bhd Director, Boss Naidu.
Another Scania Ecolution agreement was also signed with Gateway Shipping Sdn Bhd from Pahang, making it the first in the east coast. Gateway Shipping Sdn Bhd is a total logistics company which has been operating since 1995 and currently owns 25 Scania trucks in its fleet.
Managing Director of Gateway Shipping Sdn Bhd, Mr Rishinsa Yusoff found Scania to be a reliable business partner and committed to care for the environment. “We provide end to end logistics solutions to our customers. Our trucks play a key role in our business sustainability ensuring just-in-time pickups and deliveries in the supply chain solution that we offer to meet our customer’s requirement while reducing our carbon footprint at the same time.”
Further, subsequent to the launch of its ‘New Truck Generation’ earlier this year, Scania Malaysia presented the first S-series cab to Heng Seng and Co., one of the first liquid petroleum gas (LPG) distributors in West Malaysia. Scania’s New Truck Generation is designed and engineered to give owners better fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions with its powertrain updates, improved aerodynamics and and chassis design, as well as improved driver comfort. The S-series cab is the tallest in the Scania range and features a flat floor and high roof to maximise interior space and comfort for long-distance driving. The safety of Scania’s new trucks is also enhanced with award-winning rollover side curtain airbags.
“We are truly pleased to be working together with Scania as they understand the importance of having the right type of vehicle with the proper safety specifications and reliability to deliver results especially when our LPG centres abide by strict safety regulations. Heng Seng has become one of the key LPG players in the country thanks to the mutually beneficial partnership with Scania and having the new S-series Cab truck will give us a further advantage in our business in the long term”, stated Heng Seng and Co. General Manager, Steven Tan Kim Soon.
