Bermaz Motor Launches Updated 2018 Mazda CX-3
Bermaz Motor has launched the new 2018 Mazda CX-3. The award-winning crossover has been updated; retuned and refined to offer better driving performance, efficiency and greater elegance. Among the awards received by the Mazda CX-3 since its debut are the 2015 Red Dot Design Award, the 2016 and 2017 IIHS Top Safety Pick+, the 2016 World Car Design of the Year Finalist, and locally, the 2016 ASEAN Crossover Car of the Year, and the 2017 DSF.my/Allianz Vehicle Design of the Year.
Changes to the exterior of the 2018 Mazda CX-3 are subtle, with a new front grille design with double chrome slats, redesigned rear tail lights with a sharper styling, as well as a new rim design.
On the inside, the Mazda CX-3 gets an updated dashboard, with new red accents on the air conditioner louvres, and the use of an electronic parking brake which allows for a new centre console, armrest and significantly greater storage space.
Other interior updates include redesigned front seats that offer more comfort and support, and a new rear seat centre armres with integrated cup holders. The new Mazda CX-3 also has improved NVH due to the thicker door panels, outer glass and headliner door seals, resulting in a more refined and quieter cabin.
In terms of driving dynamics, Mazda has retuned the suspension for a smoother ride, and recalibrated the chassis and power steering for a swifter and more enjoyable Jinba Ittai driving experience.
Powering the CX-3 is a 2.0L SKYACTIV-G engine paired with a 6-speed SKYACTIV-DRIVE automatic transmission with manual-shift and sport mode; working with the engine to provide a better sense of control is Mazda’s G-Vectoring Control (GVC) technology.
Also included is the latest Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE dynamic safety features that comprise Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA). BSM helps detect and aler drivers to the presence of vehicles in the blind spot area on either side by displaying an icon in the wing mirror of the corresponding side. If the driver indicates to change lanes with a vehicle in the blind spot, the icon will flash and a warning beep will sound. Meanwhile, RCTA alerts the driver when it detects vehicles approaching from either side during reversing operations.
The 2018 Mazda CX-3 is fully imported and is available in six exterior colours i.e. Soul Red Crystal, Ceramic Metallic, Machine Grey, Deep Crystal Blue, Jet Black Mica and Snowflake White Pearl. The retail price is RM121,134 (OTR without insurance).
