Want A Koenigsegg Agera RS?
If you’ve been eyeing the Koenigsegg Agera RS Swedish supercar, we have some unfortunate news for you.
Less than a year after it showed itself at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the boutique supercar maker has announced that all 25 units of the Agera RS that it plans to build have been sold. This makes the Agera RS the company’s fastest selling model.
You may think 25 units is easy-peasy, considering that 10 were already booked before its unveiling. But it’s a different story when you factor in the price of US$2 million. And that’s before taxes and whatnots.
The Agera RS is essentially an amalgamation of the best bits of the Agera R and Agera S. For that money, you get a 5L supercharged V8 mated to 7 gears and produces merely 1,160hp and just 1,280Nm of torque (no typos here), on RON95 fuel. The 0-60mph sprint is claimed to take 2.9 seconds. Seems like a lifetime, right?
Founder Christian von Koenigsegg said “I am extremely proud of the Agera RS program. The RS is a classic Koenigsegg, with all the core values and features that the Koenigsegg brand stands for. The performance, road feel and responsiveness are truly amazing and the level of technical sophistication is second to none. It is a true ‘pinnacle’ project that has been wholly embraced by our customers and friends.”
The first car was shown and delivered to its owner at the Geneva Motor Show and the remaining units will be produced this year with the last cars expected to be delivered in 2017. If you’re curious where these fine limited edition beasts will be headed, Koenigsegg has named a few locales – USA, Canada, UK, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Japan, China, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia.
So do keep a look out when you’re stuck in traffic. You might have an Agera RS on your tail, to which you can boast to friends that it couldn’t get past you.
