Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Posts Best Ever Sales Result in History, +56%
Kuala Lumpur, 8 January 2016 – Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) achieved its highest unit sales ever in its history in Malaysia, for the year ending December 31st, 2015, surpassing its 2014 sales units achievement by an incredible 56 percent. From a sales number of 6,932 units in 2014, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia achieved a total unit sales number of 10,845 units.

Of the 10,845 units, the bulk of deliveries were the locally assembled models, C Class, E Class and S Class. The locally assembled units made up 7,989 units. The remainder was made up of imported (CBU) units, made up of the A Class, the CLA, and the GLA models. The highest volume, surprisingly, came from the E-Class, with 3,383 units sold. Following closely behind was the C Class, which accounted for 2,697 units sold. The highest growth segment was in the flagship model, the S400L hybrid, which grew 201 percent in 2015 compared to the same period in 2014, accounting for 1,909 units.
The timely introduction of the new compact vehicles series, which includes the A Class, CLA, and GLA models, and these models, together with a mixture of other exclusive imported models, helped Mercedes-Benz Malaysia to achieve its record-breaking sales numbers for 2015. Another major contributing factor is the EEV subsidies enjoyed by some of the Mercedes-Benz models, which allowed MBM to actually reduce the retail prices of various models across the range.
