Lamborghini has taken veils off its new Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce Roadster at the Monterey Car week event currently happening in California. Limited to just 500 units worldwide, the LP750-4 Roadster marks the first time that Lamborghini is attaching the Superveloce name to a series-production open-top model.
‘‘The Superveloce is the purest, most sports-oriented and fastest series production Lamborghini ever. The Roadster version represents our commitment to satisfying our passionate clients with immensely emotional driving dynamics combined with an extraordinary open air experience,’’ said Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini.
Justifying its Superveloce moniker, the LP750-4 enjoys a 50hp power hike and 50kg weight reduction over the ‘regular’ Aventador LP700-4 Roadster. Its naturally-aspirated 6.5-litre V12 now produces 750hp at a heady 8,400rpm with maximum torque rated at 690Nm.
Hooked to a 7-speed ISR single-clutch automated manual transmission sending power to all four wheels through a fourth-generation Haldex AWD system, the 1,575kg LP750-4 Superveloce Roadster obliterates the benchmark sprint in a mere 2.9 seconds en route to a searing 350kph top speed.
Like its coupe counterpart, the Superveloce Roadster enjoys enhanced handling characteristics provided by adaptive Magneto Rheological Suspension, a pushrod damping system and Lamborghini Dynamic Steering
For shade, Lamborghini provides the LP750-4 with a two-piece carbon fibre hardtop moulded from advanced material-making technologies. Weighing six kilograms each, the two pieces are designed to be stowed away easily in the luggage compartment.
Deliveries of the Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce Rodster begin in early 2016 with base pricing of €357,000.00 (excl. VAT) or US$ 530,075.00 MSRP.
