New Johor dealership to mark start of Proton transformation
In line with the ongoing introduction of a new generation products, national car maker Proton is seeking to improve the services and facilities of its dealerships nationwide in an attempt to regain the trust of Malaysians toward the brand.
A new 3S outlet operated by Kulis Auto Sdn Bhd, an official Proton dealer for the past nine years, was officially opened earlier this week to symbolize the start of the company’s transformation efforts that will be undertaken on a nationwide scale.
Built at a cost of RM5 million, the 2.0-acre facility consists of amenities such as a customer lounge, meeting room, Astro broadcasts, and free WiFi access. Its service centre consists of eight service bays with a capacity of servicing up to 15 cars a day. It targets to serve Proton customers based in Johor Bahru and surrounding towns such as Kota Tinggi, Plentong, Johor Jaya, Masai, and Ulu Tiram.
Moving forward, Proton plans to effect this transformation plan across its network of 270 service outlets nationwide. Currently, 16 of the said outlets have already been upgraded to 4S centres and 47 of them have started running 7-day weeks as of 10 Oct 2014. Remaining centres are expected to follow suit by Jan 2015.
As additional initiative to cultivate brand loyalty amongst existing Proton customers, Proton has also launched the ‘My Proton Family’ programme that allows current Proton owners or their family members to purchase another Proton car with a 5% loyalty discount. Apart from that, all new cars come with three years free service and up to five years free warranty.
Proton Edar Sdn Bhd’s Chief Executive Officer, Encik Norzahid Mohd Zahudi further clarifies, “The offer is also extended to the Proton car owner’s father, mother, spouse and children. This means that their next Proton car does not necessarily have to be registered under the existing customer’s name.”
