Proton Appoints New Management Members
SUBANG JAYA, 10 October 2014 – PROTON Holdings Berhad (PROTON) announces the appointment of new members of the management in PROTON and Proton Edar Sdn Bhd (PESB).
Mr. Andreas Prinz who joined PROTON in July 2014 as the Director of International Sales has now taken the role of Chief Operating Officer, Commercial. Andreas has 29 years of proven working track record in large multinational companies with 23 years in top executive positions, overseeing various key roles in various countries across the globe. With a qualification of Master’s Degree in Business Administration from University of Applied Sciences Rendsburg, he has spent 15 years in the automotive industry, contributing to companies like Volkswagen and Bentley Motors. Among his successful endeavours were the establishments of an entirely new set up of National Sales Companies and dealership networks for the Volkswagen Group in countries like the Middle East, India and Malaysia as well as the implementation of a significant growth strategy for the growing markets in Asia.
Encik Norzahid Bin Mohd Zahudi and Mr. Daniel Tan Soo Liang have both came on board PESB as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer, respectively, effective 1st October 2014.
Norzahid, holds an MBA in Strategic Management from Swiss Management Forum St. Gallen, Switzerland. He has 32 years of experience in key industries like consultancy, financial and automotive, spearheading and overseeing areas of strategic planning, project and marketing management, brand building, stakeholder relations and international market reach. He spent 21 years in the automotive industry which includes the management of multiple notable brands for both international and domestic distributorship networks.
Daniel who holds a Degree from Universiti Malaya brings with him 26 years of working experience in various industries including 10 years in the automotive sales. Throughout his involvement in the automotive Industry, he has overseen the sales in both local and ASEAN markets with his last role serving a German marque in China. He played a major role in the growth of the businesses in each of the organisation he was working with, and contributed to profitable strategies that was undertaken in his tenure.
In line with the new appointment, the management wishes to inform the reassignment of Encik Azmi Bin Idris, who was the CEO of PESB to assume the role as Director of Quality, effective on the same date.
