Isuzu D-Max range expands with Single Cab variants
Isuzu Malaysia has expanded the model range of the new second-generation D-Max with the introduction of new Single Cab variants catering to commercial demands for workhorse applications. To widen the latest model’s appeal to a bigger spectrum of customers, Isuzu is offering buyers the additional choice of a 4×2 variant complimenting the traditional 4×4 model.
“Our customers have been requesting for specific variants to meet their logistic requirements and we have had to fast track our product line-up in order to provide them with the right tools to cope with the rising cost of commodities,” said COO of Isuzu Malaysia Daisuke Ishida.
The D-Max Single Cab 4×2 is powered by the basic 4JA1-L 2.5-litre turbodiesel tuned to with a focus on providing durability and low running costs. Mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the mechanical direct injection 4JA1 makes a very modest 78hp and 176Nm. Buyers of this variant are offered the flexibility to specify their vehicles with luton, box or flat cargo beds using either wooden or steel constructions. Further options are available and can be adapted through counsel with Isuzu sales consultants.
Meanwhile, the 4×4 variant uses the newly introduced 2.5-litre VGS turbodiesel engine introduced in the higher-range D-Max double cab variants. Mated with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard, the engine produces 134hp and 320Nm as per its applications in the double cab models. For the 4×4 model, Isuzu claims best-in-class ground clearance and load bed dimensions, the latter measuring 2,305mm long by 1,570mm wide.

The all-new Isuzu D-Max Single Cab is currently available at all Isuzu dealerships in the country. The 4×2 variant is only available for company commercial registration at RM62,789.40 with insurance in Peninsula Malaysia. The 4×4 variant is available for both private and company registration, its price going at RM74,499.60 for individual private registration in Peninsula Malaysia with insurance. Prices of the variant for company private and company commercial registration terms are RM74,882.10 and RM74,775.80 respectively.
