Suzuki Swift now available as a CKD model
Suzuki Malaysia Automobile Sdn Bhd has announced that the recently-launched Suzuki Swift is now available as a CKD model with its price tag pleasingly lowered. Locally assembled in DRB-Hicom’s plant in Pekan, Pahang, the CKD Swift is now available in two model trims – GL and GLX.
The GLX model carries the same equipment level as the CBU version which we had reviewed last month. Price for this variant has been lowered from RM77,888 to RM73,788 OTR with insurance and solid paint. Meanwhile, the newly-introduced GL variant will put the Swift in the radar of many national car buyers with a price tag of RM65,888.
All variants come standard with ABS, EBD, CD/MP3 player, trip computer, reverse sensors, alarm, and immobilizer. However, one has to stump up the extra RM8,000 for the GLX to get dual airbags (single airbag for the GL), steering-mounted audio controls, side mirror-mounted blinkers, keyless entry, push start, auto climate control, and 16″ alloy wheels (15″ steel wheels for the GL).
Five colours are available for selection, and those who pick Superior White are offered the option of specifying a Suzuki Genuine Accessories Kit package of spoilers for an additional cost of RM5,300. Metallic paint will further add RM500 to the price tag.
