Mitsubishi Triton VGT Euro available in limited 180-unit run
Mitsubishi has launched a special edition of its flagship pick-up, the Triton VGT Euro, available in a limited run of just 180 units. Priced at RM 110,998.00 on-the-road with insurance, the VGT Euro builds on the success of the Triton VGT that was launched earlier this year and has since sold 2,000 units in Malaysia. The standard Triton VGT is priced at RM105,997.10, a difference of RM5,000.
In addition to the usual aesthetic enhancements that include a LED daytime running lights, sports roll bar, colour-keyed rear step bumper, tail lamp garnish, and door handle protectors, the Triton VGT Euro’s kit count is further boosted by the presence of power sliding rear windows and, available for the first time in a pick-up in Malaysia, power sunroof. Its cargo bed is also shorter than the standard VGT. Seats, meanwhile, are trimmed in leather.
Additional equipment of the Euro package joins existing items on the VGT’s kit count that currently includes ABS, EBD, RV meter trip computer, and front parking sensors. Bluetooth connectivity is built into the audio system.
Mechanical highlights start with a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine boosted by a variable geometry turbocharger to produce 176hp and 350Nm. Paired to the engine is a 5-speed automatic transmission, and allowing it to tackle the rough stuff is Mitsubishi’s Easy Select 4WD system and Hybrid LSD which combines the torque-sensing benefit of helical gears and the speed-sensing of a viscous coupling unit.
The Triton VGT Euro is obtainable in three colors – White Solid, Black Mica and Red Solid.
