Lexus CT 200h receives 2012 model year updates
The popular Lexus CT 200h, which has become Lexus’ best-selling model in Malaysia since its launch in late 2010, has received a round of minor updates in its specifications including the addition of a new F Sport variant priced at RM206,877.20 with insurance. This new variant slots above the existing standard and Luxury models that are priced at RM172,619.20 and RM202,899.20 respectively.
The CT 200h F Sport is largely identical to the Luxury model in terms of equipment, but differentiates itself with more sportier and more distinctive styling elements such as mesh grille air intakes, new bumpers, and dark metallic colouring of its alloy wheels. Inside, the F Sport’s interior gets extra silver trim and perforated leather wrapping around its sport steering wheel.
Lexus has beefed up the standard model’s kit count a little to include power-folding side mirrors and Bluetooth functionality, but there are a few items that remain exclusive to the Luxury and F Sport variants such as 4-way memory power adjustment for the driver’s seat, GPS, and DVD player. The Luxury and F Sport models also get the unique lateral Performance Dampers claimed to deliver better ride and handling characteristics.
No technical changes have been made under the skin, so all three variants continue with the Toyota/Lexus hybrid powertrain pairing a 1.8-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine and a 80hp/207Nm electric motor delivering a combined system output of 134hp. Charge is delivered from a 168-cell battery managed by a power control unit and power-split device.
Order taking for all three variants the new 2012 Lexus CT 200h has commenced. A choice of five colours are available for selection, namely White Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Mica Metallic, Black, Red Mica Crystal Shine, and Mercury Grey Mica. The Luxury model has an exclusive colour Fire Agate Mica Metallic.
