BMW Shorties film makes tour Penang colleges tomorrow

The BMW Shorties 2011 Grand Prize Winning Short Film “Guang” by Quek Shio Chuan as well as a list of other BMW Shorties Finalist Short Films from throughout the BMW Shorties’ history will be screened at special meet-the-director sessions at KDU College, Han Chiang College and TAR College in Penang on Friday, 8th June 2012.

“Guang” is a short film which follows the life of Wen Guang, a young man with autism and attention deficiency disorder who struggles with social interaction and has difficulties committing to day-today obligations but who also possesses a hidden and very spectacular talent in musical harmony. The short film earned significant acclaim from the BMW Shorties 2011 panel of judges who aside from selecting it as the competition winner, granted the short film the award for Best Screenplay and the short film’s starring actor Chen Chong Wei with the award for Best Actor.

The BMW Shorties Meet The Film Makers sessions are open to members of the public absolutely free of charge. Individuals with an interest in short films and are eager to participate in BMW Shorties 2012 are encouraged to attend.
