Bosch recently held a two-month charity drive to raise funds for the primary school SJK (C) Khai Chee of Segambut, Kuala Lumpur. The charity drive, which lasted from 11 Oct 2009 to 15 Dec 2009, saw the support of 37 Bosch dealers, who each donated a portion of their sales proceeds garnered from the sale of any Bosch product.

In partnership with the Selangor and Federal Territory Engineering and Motor Parts Traders Association (EMPTA), the automotive and technology parts supplier was able to raise a total of RM52,831 for the school, which actually needs RM2.4 million to purchase an adjacent land for the purpose of building a new hall.

Mr Alan Tan, MD of Robert Bosch Sdn Bhd said, “Bosch is committed to education and believes the future lies in the hands of our children. What we are contributing today is a small amount to safeguard our long-term future.”

Khai Chee had originally approached EMPTA for help to support their fund raising efforts, who then in turn brought Robert Bosch Sdn Bhd’s Automotive Aftermarket Division into the picture.

“We were more than happy to take on the role of a main sponsor. The education of our children is the key to success in building a world-class nation. Through this fund-raising activity, we will be helping to improve the school’s facilities, and give the children a more nurturing environment that would help develop these children into better individuals,” said Mr Woon Kim Hwa, General Manager of the aforementioned Automotive Aftermarket Division.
