Petronas Launches New Primax 3 Fuel
Kuala Lumpur, June 5, 2006 – Petronas Dagangan Berhad, the domestic marketing arm of Petronas today unveiled its new fuel for the Malaysian market, Petronas Primax 3.
Replacing the outgoing Primax 2, the new fuel is claimed to offer customers the benefits of higher performance – maximizing power output, better fuel economy, and has cleansing properties for the engine internals, minus the premium price.
To be sold at all Petronas stations nationwide, starting from tomorrow, the new Primax 3 fuel will be sold at no increase in price, RM1.92 per litre.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony held at KL Convention Centre, Encik Ibrahim Marsidi, Managing Director/CEO of Petronas Dagangan said, “This is our most significant product introduction in the past two years. We are positioning Petronas Primax 3 to become the first-choice fuel in Malaysia. We believe we have the right product at the right price, as Petronas Primax 3 is a revolutionary high quality fuel that delivers more energy to power modern engines and re-energize old ones.”
The media briefing was followed by an official launch of the product, officiated by Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Mohd Shafie Apdal.
According to the brief released by Petronas Dagangan, Petronas Primax 3 has been formulated and blended with a unique additive, SINAR G-05, developed by Petronas. This additive is claimed to ensure that all vehicles using the new fuel to operate at peak performance and maximum efficiency. It also delivers a detergent, demulsifier and anti-corrosion properties to clean the engine, fuel clarity and rust protection.
The new fuel has undergone extensively tested for more than a year by Petronas’ R & D arm, Petronas Research & Scientific Services Sdn Bhd, as well as by the Octel Fuel Technology Centre in the UK.
“A product of homegrown R&D in collaboration with Petronas’ international technical partners, Petronas Primax 3 is developed to cater especially to Malaysia’s driving conditions and is set to bring more motoring satisfaction to our customers,” added Encik Ibrahim. The effects are claimed to be felt as quickly as halfway through the first tankful.
