Fastest Car on Track was this monster from Thailand |
The following are the results of the BF Goodrich AMF AAM Open Drag Racing Championship round held on 16th October 2004 .
The figures and the actual experiences at the event show that although you need to have a fast car to win, sometimes it is not the fastest car that wins. In the ‘shoot-outs’ that take place between two cars at a time, drivers have to ‘time’ their take-offs to perfection as the ‘christmas tree’ starting lights move downwards from red to green.

Any Car can enter the drag, but this baby has a twin turbo engine under the hood. |
Fastest time of the day (FTD) for cars was achieved by Panya Aramrasmee of Thailand, with a Quarter-mile dash time of 9.099 seconds, driving an awesome Nissan 200 SX, while FTD for motorbikes was achieved by Kelvin Chia of Singapore using a Kawasaki ZX12R.

Class A was won by Lim Lean Tiek of Singapore (Mitsubishi Evolution 6), with a best time of 9.507 seconds. Although Panya clocked a faster time in earlier runs, he lost by a nose to Lim in the final ‘shoot-out’.
