See a motorshow, Win a Saab 9-3

Want a Saab 9-3 but can only afford to pay instalments for a Perodua? Well, you could own one without paying any instalments if you are the lucky visitor to the coming KL International Motorshow. Of course, you will also have to do something challenging – like come up with a catchy slogan – in order to participate in the contest to win the car donated by Auto Eurokars, the official Saab dealer appointed by Jaseri Automotive Group, the franchise holder of Saab.

It’s the first time that a car is being given away as a prize during a local motorshow, according to Aishah Ahmad, President of the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) which is presenting the event to be held at Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur soon.

At the event’s press conference today, the MAA president said that the coming motorshow should be the best ever as it has more floor area and many more exhibits than before. It is also likely to be the last motorshow held at PWTC as there is a new KLCC Convention Centre being built which will be a more suitable and spacious venue for future motorshows.

At this time, no less than seven concept cars have been confirmed by exhibitors although only DaimlerChrysler Malaysia (which will have the biggest floor space) is the only one to reveal that their concept car will be the unique Mercedes F400 Carving prototype. Cik Aishah said that she expects the exhibitors to announce their displays in the coming weeks and add to the excitement and anticipation.

She added that, unlike the motorshows in Thailand, the Malaysian event has traditionally been used by exhibitors for image and brand-building. “There are two motorshows in Bangkok each year but they are events where the companies actually do sales, so it’s a different sort of event there. Here, the focus is on image building so you usually see more exotic models and prototypes,“ she said.
