RM150,000 Grand Prize for Land Rover Event

If you are on the road to Lumut, Perak, this Saturday, don’t be surprised to see many Land Rovers cruising along slowly and their occupants peering left and right at all kinds of things. They are on a serious mission to find ‘treasures’ because the one who can find the most will go home with RM150,000 cash.

The participants will be taking part in the inaugural “Land Rover Discover the Trail Experience’ this weekend, an event which is organized exclusively for customers who purchased vehicles from Land Rover Malaysia last year under its “Carefree” and “3-Year warranty” campaigns.

The Grand Prize of RM150,000 is said to be the largest single amount of prize money ever offered in a local treasure hunt and for this, an entry is going into the Malaysia Book of Records.

Speaking to the media and participants at a briefing this morning, Ali Shuib, Managing Director of Land Rover Malaysia, said that the event is another example of how the company has stepped up its activities in the past couple of years, particularly for the benefit of customers.

“It should be noted that Land Rover is not a high-volume auto brand in Malaysia and is a prestige, premium make which offers a very special driving experience to very special people. From our research, these people – our valued customers – share at least one common characteristic – an inherent ‘Spirit of Adventure’,” he said.

“Thus our mission at Land Rover Malaysia is to inspire, create and deliver a spirit of adventure to our customers, hence events such as this inaugural ‘Discover the Trail Experience’ this weekend,” added Encik Ali.

The event is just one of a number which the company will have for its owners this year. According to Syed Azlan, its Marketing Manager, these include a visit to the army camp in Port Dickson (the Malaysian armed forces are the largest Land Rover fleet owners in the country) where owners will have some exciting activities, including demonstrations of firearms.

“We believe we have the region’s most comprehensive program for Land Rover owners which we call ‘The Coterie’, a club that is for all our Land Rover owners in Malaysia,” he said.
