For example, let's say that per minute of pressure washer usage, 4 liters of water have flowed and 40ml of shampoo is used. So you have your dilution ratio smile.gif

ah..... makes sense......thanks smile_thumbup.gif

detailing is not as simple as it is made out to be. dilutions, methods, sequence...aiya..... comp26.gif....
but thanks to folks like vx55,fishy,hitachi who knows the equation, analytical side of detailing things makes it simple for a dude who knows nuts about these kind of things other than 'enjoying' the sweat, back pain, sore arms of detailing. smile_thumbup.gifsmile_thumbup.gif

You are welcome man smile.gif
Detailing can be complicated or simple, it depends how complicated you want haha! Despite that, most complicated things are just a combo of simpler things smile.gif

Hi jackson

just wanna share

When I use the transparent tube that came with the Karcher, I used Hyperwash.
Here were my observations:

1. Hyperwash Neat

while using Karcher pressure washer, MUST NOT USE pressure lance - shampoo will not be picked up.

Took off the lance, and just use the gun - shampoo still not picked up.

2. Hyperwash 1: 10

(lance off) some shampoo was picked up but very weak. Not because too much dilution, but probably because the shampoo mix is still too thick i.e. viscous. so all I was getting was just plain water.

If I recall in physics viscosity is a complicated game and you have to tune the dilution to get the desired "pick-up" amount.

Note: hyperwash is pretty poor at sudsing so for foaming purposes, best to leave it for those more "fun" shampoo's.

just sharin

Can somebody who joined the gb of foam lance last time give a comment about their founding of using their foam lance? Any good? Which shampoo are better? and the best dilution ratio?

I owned a foam gun (gilmour) and the best dilution is 1.5-2oz shampoo to 3/4 water in the foam gun bottle.. Use setting 5 for most foam..but finish very fast.. the best is setting 3, spray, let it dwell and spray again while washing if i'm lazy to wash with 2 bucket. I just need one rinse bucket with this setup.. i'm not remember the dilution rate for setting 3 and 5..will check again once back home..

junbecks,
yup, i face the same 'issue' with my karcher too. only after removing the lance then can suck up the shampoo with the gun. i use the osren bubblewash neat, and can suck up fine. but i think it still a bit too strong on the car. nxt round may dilute it first then spray.

mankarat,
how much and where u got ur foam gun from? it is used with garden hose kan? at least with the foam gun, got preset dilution.

Bro Jackson

I bought mine from autogeek a year ago.. got discount that time.. around 40 bucks..actually its not really works as the foam not stick to the panel as what the foam lance does.. but i dont have a PW and i dont think i need it right now.. yup the one that attached to garden hose. i think the water pressure might affect the perfomance as well.. My water pressure in my house quite high as the normal clip cant hold the pressure even the quality clamp or normal hose can burst after several usage. The solution i bought a craftsman rubber hose with a pressfit fitting while i'm in state. And now it works really good. I will post a picture in this thread later once i back home this sunday. yes with foam gun got preset dilution.. there is a note about this but i forget already what the actual dilution..This foam gun also works great with megs apc when washing carpet..really useful to produce foam..

i think got to use a specific shampoo that cleans and suds stick on panel longer.

And if thinking of getting foam lance, let go the foam gun to me la, cheap cheap smile_big.gif
