Hi Siv75,

LOL.... I really wonder if you are what "Perkasa" is to "UMNO" and in this case/ forum "siv75" to "KL Auto/ Desmond". It can be singled out that you are the top "provocateur" here. Good job smile_thumbup.gif and I hope you are well paid for your efforts.

To the rest of the genuine readers here, I would like to clarify some insinuations made:-

1) Anyone who does not share my opinion is NOT a clown, bigger clown, fan boy, cyber trooper, proxy, competitor. If you are following this thread, please feel free to decide who is the "provocateur" who started labeling me a clown, bigger clown, cyber trooper, proxy, competitor in the first place. I am just re-directing this labels back at the very few "provocateurs" here who is feeling the heat.

2) No sir.... I don't know how much cyber troopers are paid. Siv75 seems to be very "experienced" on this.... I wonder why smile_clown.gif

3) Ermmm.... fans/groupies arent that hard to come by as long as they share the same passion/ funds/ etc... here are some examples.... International : Hitler/ Charles Manson / Pamela Anderson have their own fans. Heck even our local celebrities have fans such as Khairy, Sami (Mr. Bocor), etc. I leave it to you to decide whether they are "good" at what they do......

4) What is so "cheeky" about categorising the autofoam under SP? KL Auto have ALWAYS claimed that the Autofoam reduces "road noise substansially and other miraculous effects ....NO? Maybe Siv75 is trying to prove that he knows maths or other readers here can't count?

Have I called or labelled you anything? If yes, please point this to me. I have only responded to the points you've posted.

The labels you mention above are your own, directed at several forum members including me. I usually do not post much, and only decided to respond directly AT YOU when you started to label and attack individuals who did not agree with you. You've accused us of being affiliated with KL Auto when we are not. I have every right to respond.

Haha, I didn't say I know how much cyber troopers cost. I said they cost more than your claim. I don't think Desmond can afford me really. tongue.gif

All said and done, the readers can conclude for themselves. The only part of your post I actually agree with.

dB measurement will help for sure at certain level. But I believe it will lead to another issue. Although you probably get 10dB, you will start comparing how much reduction each other regardless car model and start depending on numbers instead of your own ear. 5 dB reductions in Camry probably is vast improvement but 5 dB in Perodua Kenari probably is nothing vice-versa. At the end, someone will bring up the issue that I didn’t get dB reduction compared to the other. There is unique value about NVH. People said Toyota Prius is quiet (at idle only I suppose) bcoz I found that tyre/road roar already annoyed me at 40kmh.

There is another factor here as well. When there is a 10db drop in levels, our ear sensitivity increases by that exact level. This is very apparent when we are in very quiet area and we start to hear a hiss due to sensitivities increase to a max level. OR why our hearing sensitivity reduces momentarily when someone screams into our ears. For me, whenever I'm in a recording studio, I find the hiss painful so I start humming. Our ears have a built in "normalizer" function (if you will) and reduces or increases its sensitivity to hearing based on how loud the environment is. This is why a db reading is scientifically better than our ears to measure reductions in noise.

What sound proofing does is it reduces "unpreferred" noises so we feel more comfortable. DB levels tell us something has reduced but wether this is what the owner "prefers" is very dependent on the owner. Or rather, wether the targeted sound reduction is of preferred or unpreffered noise depends on the ears to distinguish.

Hence, when assessing SP, one needs both. A meter should be used to base level reductions on, and our ears to identify if we feel the targeted noises have indeed reduced. An alternative is to use a very expensive sound spectral analyser to gauge if intended frequencies have actually reduced - this is more the domain for SP materials factories though.

For a given car, one can ascertain what majority of owners would consider as major unpreffered noises. Hence it is actually good practice for SP specialist to aim packaged solutions based on car models. However, there will also be a minority of owners who would prefer to hear a "different" sound from a packaged solution. This then becomes more of an art than science as it is dependent on human preference. A good specialist would then try to "tweak" the solution to meet the requirement of the owner. Its a process that may take time, as R&D is being utilized to satisfy the one customer's unique preference.

Take my case, I overdid my SP until I couldn't hear motorbikes at all. I got a shock a few times when the bikes whizzed past without me hearing them. Over SP also affected my sound quality ... the pressure from the bass went right into my ear drums making it painful. Hence, I had it reduced and tweaked to allow a little more "airiness" and "space" in my cabin.

Many specialists don't do this as it is risky and may not pay off business-wise. I'm just glad that there are still a few passionate idiots around today that work to this level of service.

Hi Clown smile_clown.gif ,

Trying to be cute or having amnesia? Well since you wanted me to point out your own words/ label for you to eat them ,here is two:-

1) Posted by "Provocateur/ siv75" on 2 Sep 2012, 05:54 PM in this thread:-

"Bmkia's posts seem to attack Desmond in a very personal way ... whatever objectivity that was there originally is now completely amiss. Having said that, he has his right to ramble. Its a forum where all kinds of jokers are treated as equals. I'm a joker myself as far as all readers care to imagine.

Hey! anyone wants to preach rambling off as wisdom[/b] - this is the right place to do so. smile_clown.gif "

2) Posted by "Provocateur/ siv75" on 3 Sep 2012, 11:04 PM in this thread:-

"What a load of rubbish! Sorry, I'm not buying this BS. You can always go to another installer and ask them to remove the SP. OR you can remove it yourself. SP materials can be removed without causing issues to the chassis. The side with the adhesive would leave a trace of itself but that should be ok as 1) it is in the interior where it is not visible; 2) you can easily get something else installed in its place at a merchant of your choice."

At least "Perkasa" have the balls to own up to things they say and insinuate. I don't see them asking "did I make this statement, and please point it out to me" to anyone. Well, now I can understand why you are so "affordable". From here on, its best not to reply to your "provocative/ flaming" jokes. I think most of us here is more interested to see Desmond's reply (if any). than your "sideshow".

Gosh, I really need to stop responding people who do not understand English, so this would be my last response to you. The closest thing to labeling in the entire paste above is to reference of the word "Jokers". It was written as a generic statement. You are free to infer it upon yourself.

Every other item you bolded is a response to points you raised. They are not labels .... you saying "Hi Clown", that's labelling. You seem to be doing a very good job at proving my point that my primary agenda is to respond to POINTS you raised.

Good bye for good bmkia. You are free to keep on rambling without me responding any further.

To all thread diverters, good job
Shall we now go back to discuss job not so well done to those who posted here?

No need for agenda from any parties.
This is a thread to highlight the disappointment after spending significant amount of $$ for soundproofing.

So now I truly agree that guys too, could be such a bitch smile_big.gif

bmkia,
Given the many pages and much 'bullets' here and there, WHAT is the resolution & closure to 'rectify' and to satisfy u?

Yes, you've said it many times that this is a forum and everyone should be aware or at least IMHO needs to be 'qualified' first before going for Autofoam..so what's the next thing now?

Bmkia last posting was 'clarification' from Desmond on how the Quietdrive which was 'painted' on his wheel arches and Autofoam which is permanent in nature can be safely removed. Am I right Bmkia.

... In fact, most of my friends and family already laughed at me after being in my ride... calling me too guillible spending RM3.2K in soundproofing without much difference after.

It all becomes clear now, bmkia was laughed at. Now we know where his butthurt comes from.

This is uncalled for.

Hardly, my dear sir. This gives us an insight into bmkia's increasingly puerile behaviour, from his refusal to accept closure to his name-calling and personal attacks on other forumers.

In my vast experience on the human psyche, there is no stronger generator of rage than being ridiculed. Well, you can see for yourself its effects over the past 15 pages of this topic.

Now, why don’t you be slightly more impartial and censor bmkia for calling siv75 a clown? Biased much, are we?
