I've specifically informed Bermaz to look into the problem of the unintellingent headrest monitor. They technical team knows of the problem and will have to look into it. At the moment, i have to accept the not intelligent monitor as it is. Sigh. They cant settle the problem and will find solution. Hopefully, your next visit for service they already have a solution. I find, it must be the rewiring. If it is so not intelligent, I should not have paid additional $$ for it. Just go with the reverse cam.

Yeap, got me M8 from Chin 3S Ipoh. Not satisfy on centre locking plus unintelligent headrest monitor.... free gift not much,Chin 3S just gave me full tank of RON 97 plus RM300 tinted glass voucher. Me don't fancy much about the free gift but emphasis more on the delivery date & the flawless condition before you pay down payment.
If you plan to get one I could introduce you to the sales manager & probably we could collect the introduction fees to buy us seafood dinner.

Teighlour,
1. Booked mine on 17 July & drove it out on 12 Aug (one in the million).
2. Second car dealer came on the day I paid down payment & estimate my previous car with good deal. 92K for 2003 Toyota Wish. However there was a catch..... leave my Wish at his place to sell. WHAT?? No way Jose. If you want my car to park at your place, please make the full payment. He was reluctant & added that my car had settled bank loan therefore it's difficult to cough out the sum. He turned around & offer me 82K - take it or leave it manner. I also turned around & told myself - I rather sell it 80K than to this d**k head.
3. Same thing happened to me. Have to wait extra 2 days for K1 or K2 (can't recall due to pissed off big time) from JPJ. Salesman said not his fault.... then whose fault?
Anyway all your frustration & grief will be long forgotten when you hop into your brand new M8 with your family.

Got me M8 less than a month (one in a million as the matter of fact). There are always complaints but the most important thing is how the dealer compensate you - maybe 1K petrol voucher. As I said earlier the delivery date is the most significance, don't rely much on the freebies. You live in Ipoh & work in KL? If no why book your car from KL as I'm sure you will run around like chicken without head when the dealer ask you to drop by their office/ JPJ for some documentation or some other stuff. I reckoned is easier to deal with JPJ Ipoh with less crowd compared to JPJ KL and if you are lucky you can get your favorite number. Just my 2 cents....

I assumed you a happy man now with your new M8 park in front your porch. Now you can see the rainbow at the end of the tunnel. If the unintelligent monitor have no rectification its not waste of $$. The kids are the one who enjoy most & the fighting will be less on the long haul.
Tell me something...is it worthy after all the hassle & not to mentioned a big hole in our pocket just for a transport??

Hi Guys,
Greetings from JB
Just wondering if the claimed turtle acceleration as per reviews is really that true.
Any other issues encounter so far other than the monitor and strong smell.

Myself and wife test drove the car last Saturday and she immediately fall in love with it.
We did went to check the recon Estima and Alphard but she firmly believe M8 is good value for money.

I am still working out the sum, might booked this weekend but delivery only in May after wife deliver the 4th kid.

You & your missus went for test drive, you could judged whether the review is truth. M8 is a MPV not sedan. M8 is a family car you don't need panther like acceleration. Is more on comfort drive with your family on-board & their life in your safe hands. Took out me family for dinner plus me parent & in-laws, a total of 8 person. Don't felt any significant strain on the engine even though ascending a slope.
M8 came with 3 years or 60K warranty. The other models you mentioned above only come with 1 year warranty if you negotiate hard. Do I need to say more?

Thanks. Anyway only the Missus was doing the driving in the test drive while I was sitting enjoying the ride with the dual zone temperature (can foresee less complain) She was a bit hesitant to press the accelerator during the drive so just wanted to find out from the real owners. Anyway wouldn't expect her to drive like the M6. smile_big.gif

Certainly the warranty was a no brainer, further the big boot space was also making her smile. You know how it is with woman when travelling long distance or 'balik kampung'.

Hi Bro Surveychan

Yes, we got the car last week and we have no complaint at all. Only that my missus scratched the car and there is a deep gash on the left side of the car above the rear tyre. She couldnt manourve such a huge car into her office parking space. Will get it touched up next week.

Overall, the MPV is great besides the headrest problem. The technician told me before i drove the car out that they are looking into the matter. It is not Mazda's problem but the accessory shop they outsourced to in Jln 222 who is handling this matter. Fingers crossed, they could come out with the solution soon. Not much freebies from the SA, managed to squeeze her for full tank petrol and she gave us a hamper.

Although I bought the car in Shah Alam, I chose to register my car in PG. Bear in mind if registration is outstation, it will take a while to courier the docs down to the runner and get it registered. Because of this also caused the delay in obtaining the car. Anyway, I dont like Wilayah and Selangor plate, hard to get good numbers and the running number is too fast. Even for a common number, the SA charged me for RM600 runner fee to book my number in PG. I decided to fly to PG for a day and get it done myself and I can choose whatever number I want and got a "nice" number for RM210 + RM350 flight tickets = less then RM600!

We had done so far about 300km and the FC is about 3/4 tank and all in the city driving. We will test the MPV out this deepavali holidays when we will travel outstation. Will take note of the FC.

Overall, we love the MPV. Kids love it, got floorspace for them to walk from 2nd row to 3rd row and the DVD player keeps them occuppied. Plenty of luggage space and even the people on the 3rd row rides with comfy. No regrets waiting for the more then 3 months.

Hi Mirsy

Nice to hear from another reader of this forum. You are right, the M8 is a value for money car. I believe most or all of us did consider Estima, Alphard or like me, Elysion before deciding to purchase the M8. It's because of the new car factor and also the 3 years warranty and maintenance are the deciding choice.

For the acceleration, you cant expect too much of the M8, it is an MPV. Well, unless you move the gears to manual and start playing with the gears, you can have better acceleration.

I believe you book the car, now you could get the car in Feb, after CNY.

As for the financing, Bermaz offered their panel, EON Bank for the rate of 3.1% for 7 years loan. If you get your own financing, I think you will get a better rate.

Cheers
