Dear Mazda 8 owners:

This thread is for all new owners of Mazda 8 to share their experience with the MPV. Although new on the road, I believe there are already comments on the car itself, the after sales service, fuel consumption, accessories, even TT with all other owners, etc. Please feel free to drop your comments. Cheers. smile_cool.gif

Dear Teighlour,

1. I suggest every owner public their car plate number, to prevent non-mazda 8 owner sabotage this forum nor mazda 8.
What do you think?

2. Shall we form a Mazda 8 club?

Bro surveychan

I've specifically informed Bermaz to look into the problem of the unintellingent headrest monitor. They technical team knows of the problem and will have to look into it. At the moment, i have to accept the not intelligent monitor as it is. Sigh. They cant settle the problem and will find solution. Hopefully, your next visit for service they already have a solution. I find, it must be the rewiring. If it is so not intelligent, I should not have paid additional $$ for it. Just go with the reverse cam.

Hi all,

SA not able to solve this issue as this is unintelligent headrest monitor is a standard unit. However this can be solve via adding additional switch to control the headrest monitor.

Done it at GS Audio in Jln 222 or 225 PJ, along Federal Highway. Cost is RM35. Solve all the problem of the monitor switching it on by itself whenever u start the car. It can only be switch on after you press the switch.

For the central locking, it also can be done at the same outlet. Cost RM350.

Regards.

Hi all,
Greetings from PJ..

Had my M8 for about 2 months. Fantasic car with great value.

Had my 1st service @ Glenmarie. So far has been driving it for the weekend with family.

Just wondering is there any other owners of M8 in this forum beside from bro Teighlour, bro Surveychan & bro Mirsy? smile_question.gif

Aside from this, anyone have done anything additional to their M8? Like adding security systems or upgrading their sound system?

Regards,

Below is my Zoom Zoom and Doom Doom feeling.
It represents (purely)my own feelings and it does not mean/represent all Mazda 8 drivers.

1. Till today, still no regret of changing estima Aeras 2.4 litre to Mazda 8 2.3 litre.
Zoom Zoom

2. Air con weird smell - Not happen to my car so far (((touch wood)))
Zoom Zoom

3. GPS system....first thought of this GPS, omg, not user-friendly at all if compare to GarmXn!
After spending a couple of minutes on this system, found that it is better than Garmxn, man!
Zoom Zoom

4. Audio system (Speaker) is not so pleasant to listen to if compare to my previous estima.
Doom Doom

5. DVD monitor (head rest) is having the same problem as mentioned earlier on by the other honorable autoworld forum user.
Whenever starts the engine, the monitor auto-turn-on. (the on-off button seems meaningless here)
This become very weird during night time while the rear seat is no one. In Hungry Ghost Month this may become a Hot topic if Bermaz unable to find a solution still.
Doom Doom

6. The big defect being discovered so far; although the car looks lower than estima, the car chasis nearer to the road than estima, but internally the chair sea-level is high (after adjust it to the lowest point), so feels bumpy when driving.
Gotta do something, hmm...anyone has suggestion for me?

Guys, want to check with you on the total number of 12V points in the M8? Is it 1 upfront and 1 at the boot?

You & your missus went for test drive, you could judged whether the review is truth. M8 is a MPV not sedan. M8 is a family car you don't need panther like acceleration. Is more on comfort drive with your family on-board & their life in your safe hands. Took out me family for dinner plus me parent & in-laws, a total of 8 person. Don't felt any significant strain on the engine even though ascending a slope.
M8 came with 3 years or 60K warranty. The other models you mentioned above only come with 1 year warranty if you negotiate hard. Do I need to say more?

It's all relative. To me, the M8 is slightly underpowered with 5 people on board. It will be worse with more people and going uphill.

Again, it all depends on the driver.
