Proton today announced the impending launch of the much anticipated replacement model for the Waja, based on the Mitsubishi Lancer.

Named the Inspira, the new car will be offered with three drivetrain options - 1.8 M/T, 1.8 CVT, and 2.0 CVT.

Prices range, tentatively, from RM79,888 to no more than RM95,000.

Cars are not yet available for viewing or test drive, but order taking has begun. Watch out for our story later today.

Good move by Proton. Those wishing to buy a lancer but dont have the budget can now get the lancer at a discount (with the downside of proton badge only). Proton requires minimal investment in a segment which is not expected to have volume so this move will profit both mitsu and proton. Only downside I feel is that current mitsu lancer owners may feel shortchanged but then again they have badge snobbery with mitsu.

Dont wait if you want one and have the budget because you will get lancer (japanese tech and reliability) for proton price.

PROTON INSPIRA = BUATAN WARGA TIRUAN

QUOTE
At launch, the Inspira will have about 26% local content at launch, with the aim of raising it to 40% within the next few months and straight up to 65% within a year from the launch date once the local vendors have been fully prepped. It is built at Proton’s MVF plant.

THEY PROMOTE BUY ORIGINAL NOT PIRATED EVERYTHING YOU GO CINEMA

HYPOCRITE is true, when GEORGE SOROS retaliated to TUN DR M (PROTON ADVISOR)

QUOTE
The tentative pricing starts from RM79,888 OTR for the 1.8 manual up to not more than RM95k for the top of the line. The 1.8 CVT will be somewhere in the middle. The official pricing will be unveiled at the official launch by the 10th of November 2010.
