I'm planning to buy a scenic 2.0L 2004 soon. It cheap to buy but wonder is the maintenance is very expensive and the parts easily faulty. Cause I heard repairing cost can make me bankrupt. Please you guys who driving this car give some views. Thanks

Jimmy,
Which Scenic model are you looking into? Is it auto or manual?
I am driving a Scenic RX4 2.0 manual year 2002. So far I dont find it that expensive to maintain though the spares ( original parts)are a bit taxing. But it last. Spares are quite easy to find if you know where to get. Join the Renault Club as that will help you a lot as they have the Dbase for spare part shops and reliable Renault workshops.
By any chance you interested in RX4 as I intend to sell mine, coz I dont have a driver to drive it as I got another Frenchie
to run around.
The car is in excellent condition and no repairs required.
If you are interested please do not hesitate to let me know and you can feel the pleasure of driving the Renault Scenic.
Do not worry about the price, we can discuss . TQ

hi,
what are the people's thoughts on a 2006 grand scenic?
averaging rm45,000 to rm60,000
for travelling between seri kembangan/PJ/subang (weekends) and mebbe temenggor/kenyir/camerons/kuantan/fraser's (once or twice/year - max 2 destinations)
list of items i've gleaned from scouring AW:
a) owner's service records
b check with TCEuro on the service records of the vehicle
c) mileage could be (dealer) tweaked in the average region of 100,000
d) potential parts/problems:
i) sensors - cam, fuel, a/c, airbags, flywheel, etc (anything else?)
ii) timing belt kit inclusive of water pump + seals
iii) pulleys
cam pulley, dephaser pulley (are they the same?)
iv) mountings/bushings
v) absorbers
vi) fuel pump
vii) gearbox (not keen on autos either but not much of a choice)
viii) hoses, plastic-ry, undercarriage issues
also considering:
a) kangoo but the 2nd row seats cannot recline even tho' it meets our safety requirements (min three 3-point seatbelts for the 2nd row)
b C8
c) 807
d) saw a nice looking ulysse (full spec) at a serdang dealer's but not keen on fiats
e) C4GP - don't see 2nd hand units, mebbe too new or mebbe not looking properly or the right place(s)
would william of renautech be willing and the right person to invite along to check out potentials?
alternatives?
1800-3500 for the windscreen is quite intimidating
advice and feedback most welcome, thanks

Hi guys,
Glad to have found at least some online support for Renault Scenic/Scenic II stuff. About to get a Scenic II 1.6 myself soon and hope you guys can bear with me from time to time as I inquire. First question right now as I intend to upgrade the sound system and am thinking of swapping the headunit. Done a few google searches and can't find a conclusive answer as to whether the head unit is a TunerList or an UpdateList as I would like to source out the CAN-BUS cable and the patch leads so that whatever headunit am getting is compatible wise in terms of the stalk controls.
Hope you guys can help me out am making a brave move into the unknown here when it comes to French car ownership
