Can anyone confirm S-max will be in Malaysia 2010 ? Paultan mentioned ford will bring them in... as i am planning mpv next year.. it looks nicer than grandis, and new 2010 wish and the rest MPV in same range.

Except the pricing..if pricing is right, will be my 1st choice.

I love to see the S-Max on this video :
Ford S-Max Pensioner World Record

I heard too the S-Max & Fiesta will be coming. Other rumors which make be want to believe it's true is mondeo 2.5t is coming too. S-Max is a great mini MPV. Hell, all the Ford Europe/UK line-up are awesome cars. Ford S-Max should be a CBU car, only assemble in europe. Don't get you hope so much on the price tag. If it does fit, I would bet it would have the same fate as the mondeo here.

Thanks for sharing. Well, if it share the same fate, then will be too bad for me, and for ford as well.
Anyway, ford is assembling car in Thailand, and not bolehland.

From what I know/read of, only the Fiesta will be assemble in Thailand. S-Max should come from EU. I may be wrong though. S-Max 2.5T is the yummiest, but from the Wish/Grand Livina/Stream POV, it would be hard for SD to compete with the price tag. If they think like how they bring mondeo, targeting mondeo buyers here is actually people who afford Beemer and Merc want to go cheap and get mondeo - which is this what they call value, they gonna have hard time selling it. They have to realize the brand is Ford. And our country is not in Europe.

BTW, Top Gear compare S-Max with Merc B200.

Great news to you. Just learn that s-max is definitely coming. Pricing will be a little bit above the current mondeo. So I guess SD has configure out what spec and model they bringing in. But which, i don't know.

Hi Matchip,
Nice to know that S Max is coming. I wonder roughly when will it be introduce on our soil? I went through the ford uk website and got to know that they have 3 variants there, Edge (most basic), Zetec (intermediate) and Titanium (hi spec). To me the intermediate one is good enough, but of course the Titanium variant is yummy as it has all the goodies.... ^_^

15 or is it 20 (base on sales talk) mondeo arrive for the launch. most of them been taken by dealers. potential buyers mostly waited for the 2010 model that to be said arrive here in march. i haven't seen one myself. maybe SD should register all 15 of them and make them go around our country as one of the marketing strategy. after a year, sell them as a pre-owned car. SD can claim the 'loss' from the marketing fund. better than putting up bunting at jalan chan sow lin.

err.. if you like the idea, i would gladly volunteer to be the driver. hehe...

After the new NAP (under AFTA in-force) is announced and things are favourable, Ford will definitely bring in the new S-Max. Might even bring in complete specs & fuel saving diesel powered Fiesta sedan, Focus & Mondeo as long as they come in CBU from Thailand. Hope Euro3 diesel is introduced as well and that'll allow those FC savings diesel powered cars be brought in and they'll pose serious threat to Japs cars. A diesel powered turbocharged 2.0L Focus could achieve better FC than Vios 1.5L with VVT-i while performance is on par with 2.0L petrol engines.

S-Max will do well with its nice looks. If got diesel variant even better, can save lots of fuel but compatible only with Euro3 onwards..

Hi balee,

Mondeo is priced at too high due to CBU from Belgium. They'll need to establish assembly plant in Thailand or Malaysia before they should even start selling it. Those who wanted Mondeo will be drawn to Mazda 6 2.5L instead with full specs and costs lower. Bad strategy.

Ford oh Ford!

Went to 1-U and saw some ford vehicle yesterday, while feeling excited to view the Focus and Mondeo.

Forget about the handling and others, I would like a make a few personal comment see what other think.

The interior design, the dashboard and the feel of them are rather disappointing, boring , real apek or ah kong although I am already an ah pek, closing door has metal knocking sound rather then usual european car like volks, audi even chevrolet. dashboard of Escape is the worst, can't see anyone looking at that everyday. No doubt car should have good engine and handling, but we are talking about a family car, stuckied in the jam all the time, therefore the interior especially the dashboard must be presentable , just like a beautiful lady not a 70 year-old lady.

No wander there isn't any of them around, wanted to own one for it's good performance and handling but can't stand it after this.

sorry to say but this is my view, hope they can design better.

Btw, the freelander next to it was brilliant... not that british can't design..
