Hi guys, I just came back from my 40K km service at volcare. My last time there was end of October. Went there to get my roller bearing replaced because it was making a wheezing kind of noise. The noise came back about a week later but i did not have the time to go and get it checked again.

So i finally went today and guess what they told me?...replacement of the roller bearing under warranty is only allowed once (Sekali sahaja). The cost of the part is RM207.00

How many of you have faced this problem before? I heard its quite a common problem. I need to gather 'ammo' before i go to BB glenmarie and fire them.

The roller bearing? I assume it's called idle bearing.. Normally parts changed are warranted for 6-12 months or for some reasonable mileage.. Quite rare for new parts to fail again within just a short time.. have it checked again n file a complain. dont worry, it wont break anything so fast, its just the whizzing sound that might annoy you. Changed mine once under warranty at 24k kms..

whizzing sound and mechanic can hear the bearing vibrate while engine running..most mechanic know how to do it..put a screw driver on the bearing and they will hear unusual sound came from that bearing..

Yup..after going to volcare i went back to my trusted mechanic just to double confirm the problem, and he did just that...used a long screwdriver and placed it on the bearing...could feel the vibration.
Yesterday, I sent the car to BB glenmarie and they changed the bearing for me.They said the tensioner bearing is warranted for 40,000kms. Now the engine is back to normal...

If you don't hear any strange noise from the engine then i guess there's nothing wrong. The sound is a whining(eeeeeeeeeee) sound and get louder when u rev the engine higher.

can be done outside workshop as long as use original peugeot bearing..i think it failed second time might be because the belt is too tension and push the bearing harder..just my thought maybe..
new car no need to worryla bro..you can clearly unsual buzzing sound..quite sexy sound thugh..hehe...
