Indeed I do.

Exterior
- Test car is finished in a sporty Racing Blue colour, reminiscent of the Focus RS.
- It is a very handsome looking car.

Interior
- Fit and finish is a bit below par. Gaps between certain panels are quite big.
- At noon time, the metal finish of the steering wheel reflects sunlight straight into your eyes. Because of a packed schedule, I didn't have the time to do so, but I'll see if that can be fixed by adjusting the steering wheel position tmr noon.

Performance
- Engine pulls strongly under acceleration.
- 4A/T shifts smoothly.
- Little complaint on drivetrain.

Ride & Handling
- Focus' trump card. Corners very well, and rides smoothly too.
- Steering is light, but gives good feedback.

Didn't have time to properly road test it today, but will do so over the next couple of days.

I've tested both in fact 3 of them Focus Sport, 308 Turbo and 308 Vti but still can decide which one to buy. Hope your report will help.

I am attempting to get the 308 Turbo from Nasim to do a head-to-head, but due to scheduling reasons, I won't be able to test the cars together. Hopefully I can get the car as early as possible next week.

Hi Gunner,
Good thing is I'm not too late. Yes, try both head on kaw kaw. Let me know its early acceleration especially with passengers. I remember the non-facelift Focus 1.8 with 158Nm of torque sort of weak when going uphill. The current 2.0L seems to have adequate torque for its category, help me to check for any lag. The Pug308, if you are getting the non-turbo 1.6 version, help me to check whether there's any symptom of overweight feel. Help to get both FC for city traffic as well. Does the Focus come with valve timing technology? Thanks.

jay, I tested the 308 VTi from the showroom not too long ago, didn't feel it was underpowered, but that was a short test drive. I have specifically requested for the 308 Turbo from Nasim, as that is closer in both price and specs to the Focus.

The Ford Duratec 2.0-litre engine has a non-variable valve timing system. It produces 143hp and 185Nm, which are respectable figures. I haven't had the chance to hard test it, but I suspect there will be a certain degree of lag in response. Sometimes, this lag is intentional, as certain manufacturers want to avoid giving cars with an over-responsive throttle.

u need the ford ecu to adapt ur driving style so floor it if u need good accelaration. it can be slight lag but it does provide enuf power.

from there, with slight tap it will be fast. and also i feel kickdown function react faster than using manual shift

A former ZX16V driver....damn really good car!

Based on my experience, I can say that....

a) Focus is more dynamic to drive. Stable at high speed and connering. Edequate power but lack of features.

cool.gif 308 Turbo feel light and powerful. Features of RM200K cars. Cheaper road tax.

The question now is on the reliability of the car and after sales service. Maintenance and depreciation are next.

Still can't decide....

I think I'll get re-aquainted with the Focus. I shall drive it next week instead of the Pug. smile.gif
