This Friday, I'll be collecting a test car of the new Focus hatch to be reviewed over the weekend. Check back this thread as I record my thoughts, and views of the car in preparing a test drive report.

Also, please let me know if there are any questions you might have on the car's performance. I would do my best to answer them.

It would be good if you could do a RON 95 vs RON 97 fuel test to see if there is any difference that is humanly detectable. I also wonder if the stiffer suspension settings affect the ride quality. I find the Focus Ghia very nice in terms of ride comfort. smile.gif

I have tested a few cars in this range alright, but most of them not as a journalist. The closest I have tested in this category as a writer is the Lancer GT.

This one will be difficult. I doubt can do so due to logistical issues. For a RON 95 vs RON 97 test like what I'm doing for my car, I need to have it for a period of several weeks, and use it regularly. I will also need to drive the tank close to empty before refueling. It depends how much petrol Auto ConneXion fills into the Focus before handing it to me.

I will make it a point to ask what fuel is being used in the tank.

Yes, I know it is difficult to do this on a 3 day test. That is why I am not proposing an economy test. More a performance difference test. It would be easier to do this at the track as you can then fill up with maybe 10 or 15 litres at a time and then drive 5 or 6 laps.

Understand what you mean. No promises, but I'll see what can be done.
