rm50 /1.8 = 24.4 liter
220km/24.4l = 9km/liter

that is one thirsty bestari.........
average should be around 12-15km/liter

is your car new?
wht is the milage?
is this yr first car?
first time drive and own conti car?
what route you normaly use... town/highway/combination?
do you like to drive fast?

answer to this few question can effect your consumption.....

For comparison... my 13 years old 405 automatic is getting average of 550km for 65 litres during city driving. This include sprinting to beat the traffic lights and cucuk small cars driving slow on the right lane. So my average is about 8.5km/l. Bestari should be above 10km/l la....

car reaching 3 years warranty expire this ogos... milage around 52,000km..
well i drove kancil > MyVi > 206 (Now).
I often pedal-2-besi la. cause i feel the car abit heavy and not responsive...
But even though, the average KM i can get after a RM50 pump is around 220-230km.. if more than that its below the red fuel line already..
any suggestions? should i check at SC? cause at times i do smell petrol inside my car.. i dont wanna die..
Best regards,
leroy.

Hahaha! Nobody wants to die like this la. You pedal-2-besi sure fuel consumption not good la. Drive gently and don't expect supercar performance and you will get much better consumption.

Big one also I cucuk if they drive slow on the fast lane. Many times left lane is clear, no cars but these people like to lepak on the fast lane. Macam pemandangan cantik je.... Kalau BMW/Impreza mari, sure I also give way la. Singa sudah tua ma. Sorry to off topic.

leroy ... the way you drive without the petrol smell also can die you know 1.gif ......change your style of driving........... dont touch the besi to often...........try not to rev more than 3500rpm.... less is better....... follow the character of the car not the other way round....my method is to maintain less than 3000rpm.... that is about 115km/h already........ and my average is FC is around 14km/liter........... once in a while you tekan is oklah........ this car is engineered to be enjoyed wub.gif ...........

send the car for resetting and change your style...... i'm sure you can hit at least 12km/liter.....

reset the ecu u mean?
erm okok.. cause i heard if ecu after sometime it will not be responsive anymore..
I normally play wit tiptronic and change at 4krpm.. i paling suka the 1st gear... haha..
okok ill try to drive < 3k rpm.. cause i tonw use only, seldom travel highway.. maybe u all can get >10km/liter is because highways? Im living in Melaka, a small town, everywhere traffic lights and so on.. erm.. do u think this will effect the FC also? Cause since i drove this, i notice the FC is higher than MyVi and very obvious..
Best regards,
leroy.

1st gear? It's the most fragile and you should take care the most, this is the advice given by someone very knowledgable and experience in gearbox.

Yes, traffic light definitly effect the FC, the high FC is cause by stop and go driving, when you move your car from stationary it requires a lot of energy to move your lion. Plus, your lion also fat and heavy, hehehe smile_big.gif
If your lion have Trip Computer then you can see how serious and high the FC can get... You can test drive the 308 or 407 and look at the Trip Computer, look at how big difference it can get depending on how you move off from stationary... or low speed...

Myvi is light and it's a DOHC with DVVT, can't compare with the Lion, for your lion, you have to understand your lion power band and utilize it. Your Myvi might still be strong at 4K RPM, but not your Lion, your Lion will perform well between 2.5K to 3.5K (I think). UncleD has a detail write up, he even mentioned at which RPM change gear gives the best and smooth power, haha smile_thumbup.gif

pardon me ..... 1st gear change at 4K rpm ....you memang giler................. it is a matter of time it will ask to see the docotr..... the 1st gear is fragile....... use short shift between 1st and 2nd lah...... then if you want to drag the 2nd all the way to 4th gear p to you..... no wonder your FC is like Twin carb vehicle.................... i wonder how you all race lah i mcca town?

during the recent 206 big TT at shah alam, there is a guy that was invited to demo his decarbonising product.

i didnt have the luxury to stay long due to other commitment, but the very reason he was invited is due to some 'complaints' that we heard from bestari or 1.4 cbu 206 owners. Basically, they feel their 206 is having a rather 'soft' acceleration power and need to be rev a little too much just to get that power. this will be more evidence if the car had clocked anything above 30,000km (compared to new).
most owners might not really realise this, as they get slowly accustomed to the performance lost.

to cut the story short, if you feel that your car acceleration is not getting any better, try do the decarbonising.

it should help to improve the pick-up and thus FC overall. the more carbon deposit in the engine you managed to removed (by doing the decarbonising process) the more your car will feel like 'new' and acceleration will be much 'lighter' and easier to be delivered.

i can vouch for this, as i have been decarbonising my car' engine since at least 2 years ago.
in fact, i've just did it a week before the 206 big TT.

the effect of doing decarbonising is as if your are doing a top overhaul (where the top engine components (e.g. valves) will be clean by the mechanic) but a a faction of the cost. that guy will not recommending decarbonising if you had just doing a top overhaul recently (within 20,00km) coz you'll just waste your money.

nevertheless, actual results does varies as we just do not know how much carbon is deposited in the engine and the engine reactions to the now clean engine (top side). but for me, this is one product that worth it asking price.

i do not know if any one did try it (as i knew a lot will be skeptical), but kudos to whom do did and feel the differences.
